Just curious, has polymorph and true polymorph always been missing from the basic rules?

Check it yourself - here's the very first capture of the page back in 2015:

I wonder what the reason for that is?

Probably a combination of them being too wordy and too complicated.

      Nice.

I was a bit surprised that this is only v1.0, but sure enough the previous seemed to be 0.2.

I wish they'd do a print run of the basic rules.

I am glad that they updated it. Personally, I would have preferred it without the art as I am not a fan of the chosen art. The art is competently done. I just don't like the style.

Print on demand through the DM's Guild would be awesome.

I'm doing this for my next campaign...running from a computer is fine, and I can't sell my next campaign like I am the current one anyway!

Here's an cover which is sized to the 5E Basic Rules PDF - it's an homage to the Red Box: https://sites.google.com/site/dndphi...ic-rules-cover

I think a "printer friendly" version that had no art would be my preference as well.

I don't know, The Warduke on page 12 looks pretty bad@$$.
Would like to get officially in some adventures.

Seems like the Basic Rules have also been updated to match the latest round of errata. Lots of references to "your spells" changed to "your [CLASS] spells", for example.

Not wildly significant, but cool nonetheless.

I like the pencil-drawn art quite a bit. It also makes it printer friendly. You can print in grayscale and still have it look nice.

Nice idea. I advise a high school game club. The little munchkins have taken up D&D and despite online resources and PDFs they like having books handy. I keep my extra set of core books at school for them. Three or four of these might come in handy.

      Thanks
