Halo brute race!

Hello again guys, I want to make a brute race from the halo video game series.

Here are my initial concepts:
+2 to str and con, -2 to wisodm
Base land speed 40ft.
Size medium
Racial hit dice 2d10
Since they are medium sized, but are almost large sized and have good strength, I am giving them the feat monkey grip for free
Favored class barbarian
Level adjustment +2

So what do you guys think, I am open for suggestions/constructive criticism!

First, I'd look at other races for comparison. You might want to check out the Half-Ogre (Savage Species), Half-Giant (XPH), and the Goliath (Races of Stone). Possibly even the Anthropomorphic animals (Savage Species). Depending upon your goals (I don't play Halo, so I can't even guess), those ability mods might be a bit off.

Second, Monkey Grip, while fun, is meant for races that don't normally have that innate ability, so it has some built-in negatives. What you really want is Powerful Build (as seen on the Half-Giant and Goliath).
