Warforged plating and armor proficiency

Would a Warforged taking levels in barbarian be given extra penalties due to non-proficiency if he has taken the Adamantine Body feat?

I'm just wondering, because the feat says, "The warforged is 'effectively' wearing heavy armor".

Also, can a warforged wear armor atop his plating?

Let's assume for a minute that a warforged does suffer non-proficiency penalties. What are the penalties for wearing armor with which you are not proficient?

Answer: You take the armor's armor check penalty on attack rolls and all Strength-based and Dexterity-based ability and skill checks.

Okay. So what is Adamantine Body's armor check penalty? Just make sure you apply that to all your attack rolls and Strength-based and Dexterity-based ability and skill checks, and you're fine.

(Also, the FAQ says: Does a warforged with the Adamantine Body feat need to have Heavy Armor Proficiency in order to avoid suffering penalties for wearing heavy armor? No. The Adamantine Body feat resembles heavy armor in many ways, but it doesn’t require you to have any special proficiency.)

Composite Plating: The plating used to build a warforged provides a +2 armor bonus. This plating is not natural armor and does not stack with other effects that give an armor bonus (other than natural armor). This composite plating occupies the same space on the body as a suit of armor or a robe, and thus a warforged cannot wear armor or magic robes.

It is not a feat for 'Forged rangers.

Rules just say no. i think a better way would be allow it, but
  • the AC bonus does not stack
  • Take the worst of the ACP, speed penalty and Arcane failure rate.
  • If the 'Forged has enchanted it's own plates as armor, all enchantments are suppressed while magic armor is worn.
