I'm just wondering, because the feat says, "The warforged is 'effectively' wearing heavy armor". |
Let's assume for a minute that a warforged
does suffer non-proficiency penalties. What are the penalties for wearing armor with which you are not proficient?
Answer: You take the armor's armor check penalty on attack rolls and all Strength-based and Dexterity-based ability and skill checks.
Okay. So what is Adamantine Body's armor check penalty? Just make sure you apply that to all your attack rolls and Strength-based and Dexterity-based ability and skill checks, and you're fine.
(Also, the FAQ says:
Does a warforged with the Adamantine Body feat need to have Heavy Armor Proficiency in order to avoid suffering penalties for wearing heavy armor? No. The Adamantine Body feat resembles heavy armor in many ways, but it doesn’t require you to have any special proficiency.)

Composite Plating: The plating used to build a warforged provides a +2 armor bonus. This plating is not natural armor and does not stack with other effects that give an armor bonus (other than natural armor). This composite plating occupies the same space on the body as a suit of armor or a robe, and thus a warforged cannot wear armor or magic robes.
