I agree. I've stared at it a bit, been hypnotized, and now think that I really like it. It's not flashy or anything, but cool in the same way an old DC logo is cool on an old comic. Not bad, but probably not going to be too popular. I like it though.
And since it's just a tiny little logo, I doubt it's going to "color" anything about any product it's on.
Then again, I started playing D&D in the 70s, so maybe the 70s retro thing is triggering in my subconscious

Personally I think its missing a half-circle of 5 pointed stars around it with that are coming from behind.
