How many opportunity attacks?

Looking for some clarification.

Paladin surrounded by 3 goblins.

Goblin A leaves square adjacent to paladin. Paladin makes an Opportunity Attack.
Goblin B leaves square adjacent to paladin. Paladin can make an Opportunity Attack.
Goblin C moves through 3 squares adjacent to paladin. Paladin can make one Opportunity Attack.

To sum up.
* You can make as many Opportunity Attacks during the round as the number of enemies that provoke.
* You can make only one attack per enemy that provokes.

Sound right? Also, does the paladin get to pick which provoking square he uses to make his OA?

Thanks.

Most of what you said sounds right.

When the goblin moves through 3 adj spaces, the paladins gets three theoretical OAs, though he can only take one. So when the goblin leaves space 1, you decide to take the OA or not, then when he leaves square 2 you can decide again if you didn't already take one. The issue is you don't know if he is going to leave square 2 or not, and as such its likely in your favor to take the first OA.

You can make one opportunity attack per turn, but not on your own turn. Most of the time this works out to be the same as "one OA per enemy each round", but there are a few situations where an enemy might provoke an OA during another enemy's or another player's turn.

(The only one I can think of offhand is that if you're a warpriest, you get to make an OA when an enemy you've marked shifts, and the fighter power "Come And Get It" causes enemies to shift during the fighter's turn. If you're a warpriest and a fighter uses Come And Get It to make two enemies adjacent to you shift towards him, you could make an OA against one of them but not both, and it doesn't matter if you've made OAs against them already this round.)

Just FYI, your reasoning is correct, but your example got changed out from under you; as of 8/11, come and get it causes a pull, not a shift.

Well, considering the Warpreist can only mark one creature that makes sence.
