Human Mage Level 8 Artillery

Does anyone out there recall where this monster was published? I know that I've seen this variant of the human mage level 4 artillery published in the MM, but I can't seem to remember where.

Most likely it just used the monster level advancement rules in the the DMG (page 174).

Adding 4 levels to a monster gives:
+4 to attack rolls and all defenses, +2 to damage, and +24 hp

It doesn't say it, but I would also add +2 to any listed skills and ability bonuses (because you add 1/2 your level to those).

Mostly likely you are correct, Caliban, but I seem to recall that its abilities were slightly different as well. I wanted to do a comparision of the two, specifically.

Dragon 366 has the Rose Keep wizard enclaze article for downloand at wizards.
Has a 9th level NPC Human mage and 7th level dwarf wizard.

Still working on my monster only spreadsheet you might find useful.
