Swift Charge - how many attacks?

Ok,

This question has 2 parts.

i have just read the swift charge power, and wanted to clarify what the limitation (if any) of the power is?

1. Imagine a barbarian in a room full of minions, the barbarian activates the swift charge power, assuming he hits with every attack, does that mean that he can 'swift charge' all the minions in the room?

2. Was the solution immediately obvious to you? I ask because I am having a debate with a friend about how the powers should be written up. I am of the opinion that if the average Joe in the street can't can't get it, then it is too ambiguous. He begs to differ. Be honest. Did you have to think about it?

Answering no to 'did you have to think about it?' just to feel good doesn't qualify

It's an encounter power, so it is expended after it's first use.

Edit: To clarify it further...

1) You can only charge one time after you satisfy the trigger. Then it is expended and cannot be activated in this encounter any more even if the attack kills the minion.

2) Why is it not obvious? It is an extremely forward power ... once per encounter if you killed an enemy you get a free charge.

It is that obvious, but it took me some time to start reading the powers right. I only got into 4e a couple of months ago, and at first I also had some problems. I can see where you think that Swift Charge is a continuous power, but the point to have in mind is: think of it as a power. Standard Action, Trigger, Effect. Period.

The reason why you canīt keep charging is because the use of that power only states that once. You canīt ASSUME anything and simply assume that it allows you to have such a benefit for the duration of your turn. To get another free charge, you have to use that power again. Thatīs the thing to have in mind when reading any power.

So, yes, itīs obvious. But it also takes some time to start reading the powers right...

It's probably just Caliban insecure about asking questions in this forum.

1. Only one charge, it's an encounter power.

2. No I didn't have to think about it. Because it's an encounter power, it can be used once per encounter.

Don't encourage him.

I'm the one he was having the argument with; I said it was obvious 'cause it was an encounter power. He said it required him to 'think in a certain way'.

In his defence, he was drunk at the time of posting this
