Heavy Blade Opportunity Ranger, and Hit and Run

HBO and HaR. A feat and at-will combo that lets the Ranger, in this case, use Hit and Run at-will, in this case, for her OAs.

The at-will power has an effect line that states its own trigger. "Effect: If you move in the same turn after this attack" ... blah blah... effect happens.

Given that an OA can't happen, by definition, on the Rangers turn, isn't the turn in question the provoking combatant's? Can the effect ever trigger?

Um....

...this is a rules question that really does not need to occur.

The trigger is 'he can't make OAs against your move'.

So... the fact that he can't make OAs against you on his own turn -does- mean that you never get the benefit of him not making OAs against you from the power.

In other words.... who cares?

Yes, 'this turn' refers to the OA triggerer's turn. A turn is only as long as a single creature's set of actions.

Ranger HBO + Twin Strike + Two Weapon Flurry = migraine.

Remember, though, Two Weapon Flurry allows you to make an OA with your off-hand weapon. So you can't use Twin Strike on that attack, because Twin Strike requires both weapons.

Beast master ranger, with HBO, Beast Protector, and Circling Strike.

I think I'll call the beast Bait, and the heavy blade, Switch.

At least until the DM stops going for it.
