The wizard is adjacent to the orc.
The wizard cast magic missile on the orc.
The orc gets an opportunity attack before, after, at the same time or not at all against the wizard?

The orc can make an OA, because Magic Missle is a ranged attack.

OAs happen before the triggering action is resolved. So the orc gets to hurt the wizard first. If the wizard therby becomes unconscious the magic missle is canceled.
