Multiclass into Ranger for Beast Master ability???

Just what the title says: Is it possible to multiclass into Ranger to get the Beast Master ability from Martial Power. I had a character idea in mind that would require that, but after reading through the rules, I wasn't sure if it could be done.

Thanks for any help.

Like Mort said, no such thing.

BUT... Drizzt's stats that came with the latest update of the Character Builder have him be a Two-Weapon ranger, and take a few "beast" powers that work with his figurine of wondrous power (Golden Lion).

The Hybrid Character rules (updated in Dragon 375) allow it as an option. So, if your DM allows it, that's one way to become a Beastmaster Ranger while also having some abilities from another class.

Hmmm, another option I just figured out that is possible. I could go Beastmaster Ranger and take the Druid multiclass feat and get the wildshape power that way. Not as perfect as I'd like, but maybe possible. I'll have to check that Dragon 375 for the Hybrid rules.

Yup, there are a number of ways to do interesting things by MC OUT of beastmaster. It might actually be kind of interesting to go all the way and PMC as a druid. The animal striker team! Of course probably Hybrid will do it better. Pretty much seems to me like PMC is going to be obsolete.

Not really. I tried building my Rogue/Warlock 6 as a hybrid, and while I did get every power I wanted, I was really short on class features.

You could always just take multiclass shaman instead. If it's just concept, that gives you what you need.

I just put together a level 1 archer Ranger based on Tristram, from the King Arthur (2004) movie. Gave him Soul of Sorcery (sorcerer multiclass, grants resist psychic 5) and Arcane Familiar (falcon). The Resist Psychic thing I explained as being very resilient mentally, since lots of fear and madness effects cause psychic damage. If the character doesn't plan on attacking with the animal, Arcane Familiar might do the trick.
