I presume it to be a flash intro. But I gave up waiting for it to load and I have a cable connection.

Hmm... really? Wonder why, it's not that big.

Oh, crud!

Well, anyway, new more user-friendly banner:

I love that banner!

MM: If you could do me a favor and put all .jpgs and .gifs and images in the /images folder this way we do not clutter up the main directory with pictures. I try to keep everything neat and in their own folder for oganizational purposes.

well i managed to download the file and i got this to say:

SWEET BABY JESUS THAT ROCKS!!!! I thought the web page was cool but this brings thigs to all new levels!!!! Get this puppy to load somehow mastermind as this intro is simply amazing!

couple text changes:

change place to land or realm in the beginning.
instead of refugee have it be refuge

instead of come and play put Enter in that red scrolling script

my ideas on the text...good job, i never thought we would get that flash savy but this takes the cake!

it sure does take it's time loading. I'm sure it looks great though. I'll post again as soon as I actually get a chance to view it.

The only problem I see is that it's a 2mb file and it's sitting on morrus slow server so it will take a while to download. Is there anyway you can edit out half the song as I think that might be the reason it's so large. I know the flash without music is rather small and cuttting the song in half will cut the load and file size in half.

just a thought i have never edited flash before.

Actually it's only about 0.5 mb is size, but for some reason (I dunno why) it seems to have gotten bigger aftet the transfer (?!?!?!?!?). It won't load, because it got corrupted.

But anyway, a new version is up.

PS. Will ya'll change to the smaller new banner, that big one is horrible to look at in a .sig. You're all making me feel guilty of making it!

Not bad... needs more graphics though. Pan up to a mountain fortress. Show the silhouettes of a fiendish horde moving across the screen. Maybe a background sound track of wailing or screams perhaps snarling or the clang of weapons added in places... just a thought.

Typo alert: "Devastated" is misspelled.

I’d also drop the word “Welcome” from the first line. I think it sends the wrong message, like “welcome to my nightmare” it doesn’t fit.

Just my 2¢.

it's taking eons to get to the main page and it's crashing sporadically throughout the loading. YOu have to hit refresh 3 times to get to the main page....hmmm slight problem.

allthough i did update the sourcebook with a link to the new work.

I haven't had any problems with it since you put the new version up. I must say it's pretty cool. Whatever you do, don't take out the Conan soundtrack unless we are threataned with a lawsuit, that's my favorite part. Minor suggestions might be to change the line that says "In the great mountain strongholds" to read "In 6 great strongholds" since it isn't just the mountains. Also if in the last frame you were to put the D20 logo under the Daemonforge text and perhaps write "A D20 system campaign". I also like the idea of a fiendish silloutette or some other graphics popping up, but of course then we have to find pictures that we can use. I'll poke around on the internet see if I can find anything.

That's just server problems. It works really slow during board peak times.

don't specify the number of strongholds. It might grow in time. Leave it vague for now. Or put in "Vast mountain strongholds"

Definately must put a D20 logo on there, perhaps above Enter and move enter down a space or below enter? The logo is all we need to entice people in. Leave the rest to the main page. That will detail more.

Find mpictures to have it scroll behin the logo, that would look stellar!

any idea on if the flash into got cleaned up and is ready for the main page? I showed it to morrus and he loved it..

Mastermind: Can you look at the main page (dfmain.hm) and see if there is an issue with it being too big for the screen? Morrus says there is and I don't see anything so you or anyone can look at it and tell me how to fix it i would appreciate it.

I'm looking at it at 1064x768 on a 21" monitor and it's definitely too wide.

Oh, and the speed of the download has nothing to do with the peak time board traffic - the boards aren't on that server!

Love the flash, though. We should've had something like that 18 months ago when we started!

[Damn - sorry, Mastermind. I hit "edit" instead of "quote" and now your post has gone. Ugh... - Morrus]

ahh i have mine set to 1600x1200 and it works fine by me. so it's set only for 1024x768 and higher..i can live with that..those low end people need to upgrade their equipment anyway..

Danish work first and then DF. So far so good. Just give us updates when you get them (soon i hope ).

Good luck and wish me luck on my job interview!
