If you run SotC, I'll play (sorry, Bretbo. HEX is okay, but I like SotC better), but after reading this thread, I was tempted to run SotC myself. So if you DON'T want to run, I will.

Heh, what's with the "Iron GMs" this year, wanting to run two games in a row?
Let me give some thought to it... I'd love to run SotC again, but I'd also love to see IAWA in action (since that was the game that dikaiosunh was going to run that already had sign-ups).
I'd personally prefer giving IAWA a try, but I don't have any experience with this kind of "creating the characters and the setting at the table" type game. It'd be a first for me. But it'd be nice to have some sort of fantasy game going on and would be interesting to try out this style of play.

Well, considering I have zero applicants in my afternoon game, I'm not assuming I'm going to be running it at the moment.

Having heard that the Spirit of the Far Future folks have finished their FATE Traveller draft, I'm REALLY tempted to run that. But I don't want to step on your toes.

EDIT: Nope, changed my mind. I'm definitely thinking I want/need to run this session, and yes I will run SotC.
Trust me, it is going to KICK ASS!
Although that ass might be mine... More details to follow tonight!
Good point -- I'm not worried about my toes being stepped upon. I've got something that absolutely needs playtesting before the end of March, and either HEX or SotC is good for it (but I'm definitely thinking SotC), but I also think it's important to have this slot filled with something for the folks who are out a game plus any new folks coming in.
Therefore I am a case study in indecision and ambivalence.
Since it sounds like you're probably more enthused about running something than I am (and I'm reasonably enthused), maybe that's the way we should incline. If you're definitely going to do SotC, then I'll back out (and as opposed to starting another thread, I could edit the thread title and the first message to point to your second message, and then you can start managing from there). If you're NOT going to run SotC, then I'm still going to consider running it in this slot.
I've never played Fate but the game sounds fun. Sign me up!
edit: We will have Bella will us - I just want to double check that will be okay with you. We'll bring lots of stuff for her to amuse herself with but you know with kids, you never know.

I know indeed -- no worries at all! I'm happy to be running a game for you again. I just wish there was some way I could bring Sophie in, as she and Bella would make excellent playmates. But I also know enough to know that I can't run/play when Sophie's around because she loves interrupting me every 5 minutes!
Don't think we've played a game together, have we Queenie? (Ought to try to run spellslinger again some day.)

That's okay - we're getting together Sunday, right?
There's a reasonably good chance I may need to cancel my game for Gameday. I'm on deadline for a writing gig I agreed to do, and I am way behind on it. I don't think I will have the time to work on this game, which sucks, and I apologize.
Plus I am a tad worried that coordination of the game location that morning might get in the way of me running a game.
Psion, any chance you can ramp your SotC game up? I'd love to play it if I can't run it.

Sure, with consent of those already signed up.
I had been working up Spirit of the Far Future, a Traveller (space opera) SotC variant. Would anyone presently signed up not be interested in that?
Another possibility is that I could run the planetary romance related SotC game I had been planning for GenCon.
It also just so happens I've also been asked to run SotC at my weekly game. If I come up with something for that which inspires me more than those others for my more "out of the book" SotC game, it might be most straightforward for me to recycle it there.
So if everyone could let me know if any of those ideas interest (or don't interest) them, I'll try to pull something together.

What exactly does that mean? I don't know anything about Traveller or Spirit of the Far Future. I'm usually good for a romance too, I'll try not to be too picky
