Feat Packages

One of the greatest boons towards making high level characters in Ascension was the addition of feat packages. Instead of having to remember feat chains and having to think of individual feats to give my 200th HD abberation or whatever, I can just plop in these feat packages... and surprisingly enough, what was once "Waaaaay too many feats to allocate" suddenly becomes "I don't have as many feats as I'd like!" Amazing! Tactical choice in feat selection is suddenly returned, and with little effort too!

Of course, Ascension, being d20 compliant, only has feat packages for the feats in the book plus feats in the SRD. For those of us with supplementary books, I thought a thread for making new feat packages would be a good idea. When listing your packages, include what books each feat comes from, as well as the base prerequisites for the package.

I've had great fun with several of these feats, it's true. However, it should be noted that Rapidstrike has a prerequisite you didn't include above; it requires a pair of natural weapons to work (such as the Wings or Claws of dragons). Also, it applies specifically to one such pair when taken, so for example you can take Rapidstrike (Wings) or Rapidstrike (Claws). One feat does not give you the benefits of both though.

Great idea for a thread though! I may add some later in the week when I have more time to contribute something of value. Today has been rather busy for me.

Thanks for posting extra Feat Packages.

Great stuff!

Obviously there are a lot of non-SRD stuff I would like to use, but simply can't.

The feat packages also have another advantage of showing which classes are best supported by feats in the core rules. I'm still struggling to close out the Ranger I feat package!

In Ascension I am wondering if I should detail some Divine Packages (groups of divine abilities).

I am not sure I have enough Class specific cosmic packages for 10 or so Cosmic Packages.

Hey, go for it. The more the merrier as far as these things are concerned- the point, after all, is to make statting up the Big Things easier by allowing one to simply take one super-ability that happens to be divided up into a bunch of little abilities, right? The concept obviously works well for feats, so trying it with Divine and (possibly) Cosmic abilities only makes sense.

And who says they have to be class-specific, really? The existence of things like Vicissitude and Polymath means that classes become less relevant in the higher orders anyway. I'd say the more important idea to keep in mind with them is not classes, but archetypes- the different "paths" a deity or higher being could take, regardless of whether that happens to include levels in specific D&D classes or not.

Another thought that occurs to me is that you should probably base some packages (feats or otherwise) on the prestige classes you came up with for things like portfolios and Immortal Organizations, but no doubt you already thought of that and have been doing it already behind the scenes.
