NW BURBS of Chicago (Grayslake) Looking for Players

Greetings one and all,

I am the HR person for my group so it is up to me to find the new players we
are looking for. Below is a description of our group, what our gaming style is like, and what we are looking and not looking for in a player. Take a gander and if you are interested send me an email.

The group is made up of 5 guys between the ages 28-36 who have been playing as a group for over 3 years now. We consist of a cop, a lawyer, a general manager, a social worker and an engineer. We are all professional by day, amers by weekend. We all live very normal lives outside gaming. We are adults and we act as such (within reason of course). We are very laid back, don't mind drinking a beer or two along the way, and generally just like to get together to play a game we love. Since everyone always comes to scheduled games we are able to finish adventures we start.

Our gaming style is all about balance. Our games are balanced evenly between skill checks, combat, and mystery solving. We role-play our characters the entire time but we do not change our voices or show up with capes and painted faces. We are not actors by any means. I guess what I am trying to say is that we like to ROLE-play and ROLL-play. We are dead against min/maxing our PCs so they are juggernauts in combat (IE dropping your Fighter's INT and CHA to buff up STR, DEX, and CON). That sort of thing is not tolerated. We know the rules quite well and follow them but are not slaves to them. If we have an issue with a rule we state our case, the DM rules, and we go on.

We consider ourselves a Friday/Saturday night group. Our goal is to play twice month, sometimes more and sometimes less, but honestly we all have lives. Each session runs from 4-5 hours. We play in Grayslake, Illinois which is in the upper part of Lake County.

Our group is generally a DnD 3.5 group. The main campaign of the group is always DnD based. However, we do branch off as a side game RPGs like Mutants and Masterminds. We also on occasion get together for network computer parties to play games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Black Hawk Down, and Quake 3.

What are we looking for? Well, a person who enjoys RPG and has the same general view on gaming as I described above. Anyone who joins our group must be reliable and able to make each game. They need to be easy going and enjoy being around others of the like. They need to treat RPG as GAMES and not something to be taken too seriously.

If you think this is the sort of group that you would fit into then drop me email or just post here.

Sincerely,

Thunderburke

PS Our next DnD game date is this Saturday (31st). The following Saturday is our network party.
