That's not a stupid question...easy, perhaps, but not stupid. Now, if you had asked, "Should I drive down the interstate with my eyes closed?", I would suggest that you'd asked a stupid question.
The reason that there are so many threads is that this is the same forum as the one used last year (and I believe, in 2006, too). It is just renamed. Threads without a post more recent than a certain time span (I'm not sure what the span is - 1 month, 3 months, 6 months...) are not displayed. You can search for them (if you are allowed to search), but as is stated in Xath's thread, you may face suspension if you bump any old threads.
EDIT: The bottom of the forum has a "Display Options" box, which allows you to show more or less threads and sort them differently. If the defaults shown are any indication, then this forum only shows threads that have been active within the last month.

Here's a potentially stupid question, then, Fickle: are you going to list your On The Rocks games over here?
I'm hoping there's going to be a one-stop place for all ENW/CM games listed, although I imagine I can track what's what with a little more effort on my part, and the use of a handy-dandy calendar to make sure I don't over-commit.
Plus, if I'm going to run a game or three, I want to make sure I know who's running what at similar times.

Last year, there was a "Master List" thread compiled by The_Universe, with links to the game threads etc, showing who was running what when, and who had vacancies to fill, and so on. It was stickied at the top of this forum.

I guess what I was thinking is that it would be cool to have ONE place where everyone could see all ENW/CM games listed -- my assumption is that someone has aggregated this stuff before. If not, sounds like I got a project on my hands.
