I need a ride to Gen Con!

Well, it's that time of year again! Gen Con is just under two months away, and I need a ride!

I live in Lexington, Kentucky, and will be looking to head up Wednesday afternoon (the 13th), and return Sunday afternoon. I'll be taking a suitcase up with me and back, possibly a second bag on the return trip if I make out like a bandit at the Con. Of course, I'd be more than happy to kick in for gas money, and I'm told I'm good company on a trip.

So anyone interested?

We'll be driving past Lexington from Knoxville Thursday morning, probably around 9am. If you haven't found transportation by Gen Con time and still need help then just drop me an email and I'll see what we can do.

I appreciate the offer, but Thursday is too late. I've already reserved the hotel for Wednesday, and several other people are rooming with me (the reservation is in my name).

So, we're just over two weeks out. Anybody? Please save me from taking the bus! That weird guy who goes on about the elves stealing his thoughts is seemingly there every year!

I will have to check and look into a few things BUT I and a friend will be in going through on Tuesday, stopping somewhere cheap outside of Indy for the night (Frankin or so?) and finishing the drive in on Wednesday.

As I said I have to check to see IF someone else is going but IF you don't mind being picked up Tuesday and stopping overnight, I MAY be able to help.

Will post again when I find out more about the plans this week.

Normally get on the road back on Sunday around 3.

Not for you. It is even possible the trip up will not be, for you, it depends.

before 12 Noon - Tuesday, leave Columbia SC
3:00 PM to 5:00 PM- Stop for lunch in Knoxville (4 hr trip)
5:00 PM to 8:00 PM- Lexington leg (2.5 hours)

We have stopped for the night before entering Lexington and passing it based on what time it is and how we are feeling. By this time we have been on the road 8 hrs. The trip can be made in a single long day but find as I have gotten older, best to rest and relex.

Figure this year we could stop in lexington, pick you up Wednesday morning and finish the drive as it is only 3 hrs on the road and not being able to check in until 2 or 3, anyway.

10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday - On the road, after picking you up
3:00 PM - In Indy, (3 hrs) checking in Hotel with time to see the sites, pick up packets, etc.

It looks like a plan, makes you wonder if it will be an ADVENTURE!

This is probably not sane of me, but i'll throw out my situation:

Coming from Curtis, MI, to Indy on 12 August, Tuesday. Anybody along that route - Grayling, Gaylord, East Lansing, etc - who needs a ride ONE WAY only, PM me and we can discuss.
