I would like to continue with Lawful Neutral, so I am asking to run the junior worker myconid. Is it necessary to sign up again, or is it OK that I already took Junior's action?

No, it's not necessary to sign up for every monster, just the alignment.
If you get a monster that are you unfamiliar with because you don't have access to the book, then I suggest you switch to another alignment that has a monster you can run with confidence.
