The thrush hits again! (Rolled a 21). The cat is down to zero hp and is disabled.
Round 3:
The cat takes a desperate swipe at the thrush and hits! (Rolled a 19). The thrush takes 1 point of damage and has 3 hp left.
The cat takes a point of damage is now dying at -1 hp.
The thrush has an opportunity to position itself against its next opponent, which will be revealed when he/she/it enters the arena from the east side. The thrush's current position is 60N60E.
A tiny monstrous black widow spider enters the arena. It moves to position 60N100E and shoots a web strand 35 feet in the direction of the thrush. The roll is 11-6 (for long range) = 5. Not even close.
The thrush lands on top of the spider, hoping its claws will provide a nice meal. The roll is 10 +2 (for charge) +1 (for higher ground) = 13. The spider dodges out of the way.
Round 5:
The spider tries to bite the bird. The roll is a natural 20 and the critical threat roll is 12. The thrush's momentum carries it into the fangs of the spider! The critical hit still only does 1 point of damage to the thrush, which still leaves it with 2 hp, but the bird succumbs to the poison (rolled a 5) and loses a point of strength!
The thrush is immobilized and helpless!
Round 6:
The spider performs a coup de grace on the poor bird. It takes another point of damage but makes its save and still lives! (Rolled a 14).
Round 7:
The spider tries again to finish off the thrush. This time the bird is put out of its misery. (Rolled a 5).
Actually NG enters from the west side of the arena, so it would be from 60N0E. I'll assume the aasimar moved 20 feet to position 60N15E. The spider is 80 feet away (85 feet if it wants to enter the aasimar's square, which it does).
Round 8:
The spider runs as fast as it can to position 60N20E, within range of the aasimar's longsword.
She swings and hits! (Rolled a 20) 7 points of damage! The spider is dying at -5 hp!
The aasimar enters the hall of fame!
The aasimar goes first in Round 9 and can position herself against her next opponent.
The aasimar frowns and bites her lip, and grips her sword tightly. She is reluctant to slay an innocent beast such as this, but knows her duty in this contest. She raises her sword above her head, hoists her shield in front of her chest, and charges at the pony.
Just a charge at the pony at +4 for 1d8+2.

Well, poo. Not used to wearing medium armor. Okay, then, in that case, the aasimar swiftly draws her crossbow and nocks a single bolt. She hurriedly cranks the string back and levels the weapon at the equine.

See, this is what I get for not paying attention to everything...I guess she'll sheathe it, and, if possible, load her crossbow. If not, she can always load next round.
