Paranoia

While we seem to be primarily focused on discussing D&D, I imagine some of us must play other role playing games, too? A friend of mine who's involved with a local convention told me that they get a lot of requests to play Paranoia, but haven't had anyone offer to run the game for years. I'm trying to get up to speed to run it for them next year, and to that end I'm running the game a few weekends with my D&D group to get up to speed, starting this Saturday.

I hadn't seen (nevermind played) Paranoia since the eighties! But the new version from Mongoose (Paranoia xp lol) seems pretty good. I particularly like the division of styles, and I find myself drawn toward the bitter, dark irony of Straight Style vs. the slapstick comedy of previous versions.

So does anyone else here have experience with the newest version of this game? Any tips, comments or suggestions?

I love Paranoia, but I haven't seen the new version. I would also be interested to hear what others think.

Sorry, never played Paramoia. But reading the KotDT play Hacknoia has made me interested in trying some time

Never played Paranoia before, but I've heard mixed reviews about it. Don't know much else.

Speaking of other RPGs, anyone else ever played Shadowrun?
