Can I query 2 options from 'Complete Adventurer'?

1. Masterwork Instruments. The splat book gives special effects for each of the relatively common instruments when you buy them at masterwork quality. For the Lute I just bought, it would increase my Bardic Music ability by one level when I use it. So I'd get access to the +2 morale bonus at level 7 rather than level 8. Although to get that, I'd have to be using the lute, so couldn't shoot anyone.

Is that a rule you'd be happy with?

2. My third 2nd level spell. Steve's picking up all sorts of fancy spells and I'm dead jealous... Can I pick up "Distort Speech", which makes the target's speech garbled? Useful against evil wizards (creates a miscast chance) and in bard competitions to nobble the competition...

Russ, would you be OK with me swapping around a handful of skill points?

Dave has stealth all covered, and I'd like to remove the few ranks of hide/move silent I took... Probably switch to a couple more social skills, as I've clearly not got enough of those...

And I think I'd like to change the alignment as well. It occured that I've not been playing chaotic in the slightest way - probably straight neutral or N/G would seem to fit...
