Call of Cthulhu Board Game

The Call of Cthulhu board game Craig loaned me is... dense. OMG, the sheer amount of rules rivals an RPG.

Amanda noted that the only people who might enjoy this game are either a bunch of people who already know the rules backwards and forwards (and thus are able to speedily play through it with the urgency needed to maintain the atmosphere) or people who are REALLY into Lovecraft. Everyone else will be so bogged down by the insane number of mind-boggling rules that they will need a sanitarium to cure their boredom.

Anyway, I have most of the rules down, but I am not sure most people will enjoy this game.

BTW, Craig: The Dunwich expansion is lacking the board with the Dunwich map.

My experience is that, despite the density of the rules, the game play is pretty simple.

We could set up and just start playing and refer to the rules as needed.

Yeah, it wasn't too bad, but one really needs to be into Lovecraft, I think. We can certainly try it, and I have most of the rules down.

I thought you were one of the ones who didn't really enjoy it when you played it.
