A Comment from Poe

I have been reading some Edgar Allan Poe lately. Here is a comment from one of his letters:

"I am not ambitious - unless negatively. I, now and then feel stirred up to excel a fool, merely because I hate to let a fool imagine that he may excel me. Beyond this I feel nothing of ambition."

Nothing so moves me as when stupidity triumphs over reason.

I had a feeling you might be able to relate to the sentiment.

"If there is any thing on earth I hate, it is a genius. Your geniuses are all arrant asses - the greater the genius the greater the ass - and to this rule there is no exception whatever." ~Edgar Allan Poe, "The Business Man"
