Thanks everyone for playing Wings of War! I really enjoyed it. I like having uneven sides.
Congrats to Victor for shooting down Mark, and congrats to Bob for shooting down me. My personal thanks to Mark for helping me shoot down everyone at one point or another.
Congrats to Bob for shooting me down again! You do some amazing things in that Snipe.
Chris, the SE5a is definitely your plane. You flew it well. If it weren't for the explosion... If you want to order your own, the cards and maneuver deck for the SE5a come in the Dogfight expansion. I ordered mine here.
Although not an official Wings of War product, you can buy a 1/144th scale model (the same scale the WoW minis are) to make your own SE5a model from here. You just have to figure out how to attach the plastic altitude sticks to it so it stands on a base. You will still need the Dogfight expansion for the maneuver deck, though.
I am going to check out the site with the buildable planes. Maybe we could order a few and paint them too, unless they come painted. It would be neat if we could find a site that sold just the bare models, much like the old Revel planes or the Testor models.
The next time we fly, I fear we must go up against 5 or 6 of them. I have heard that the Brits are commisioning more fodder for our guns. Alas for those daring young boys of England...

Yes. When we start our campaign idea, it would be nice to have some minis to go with some of the earlier planes (for which I only have cards), such as the Fokker Eindecker III and the Airco DH 2 pushers, both of which are available on that site, but not as official WoW miniatures.

Hmmm. I think we can take them! I wonder how we would do against three double gun planes...
I am considering placing an order with decals. Take a peek and maybe we can order together and save on shipping...
Yes, a lot of people in the WoW Yahoo group love those Reviresco models. I would like to have an SE5a and a Siemens-Schuckert D III, and a Halberstadt DII, and a paddle ball game, but I don't have any extra money for ordering right now.
Well, let's create an inventory. If anyone else wants in on this, Vince and I are thinking of ordering bare bones minis and then having a paint day with them. Let us know if you have desires to order...
Yeah. I will be designing my own. Since we are playing pseudo-Germans and pseudo-Brits with made up names, I see no reason to adhere to paint schemes. I am not sure what I will come up with, but I am currently leaning toward black and yellow with either a wasp or a bumblebee on the plane somewhere... We'll see.
In addition to the SE 5a, I am glad to see the Breguet BR.14 B2 (bomber) and the Rumpler! The Rumpler doesn't even have a card set yet, but has been heavily requested.
I am very happy about Series 5 & 6, also. I've been wanting a Halberstadt, a Hanriot, and a Sopwith Triplane!
Still, unless they speed up production, we are likely to only see one or two of these in the next year.
Wings of War Miniatures Series 4:
RAF SE5a (from the Dogfight expansion, Manuever N)
Pfalz D. III (from Burning Drachens box, Maneuver J)
Breguet BR.14 B2 (from the Recon Patrol expansion, Manuever K; double-seater)
Rumpler C.IV-VII (not currently in any set. Maneuver unknown, but probably H or K; double-seater)
Wings of War Miniatures Series 5:
Morane Saulnier N (from Immelman expansion, Maneuver P)
Fokker E.III (from Immelman expansion, Maneuver P)
Airco DH.2 (from Immelman expansion, Maneuver G)
Halberstadt D.III (from Watch Your Back boxed set, Maneuver G)
Wings of War Miniatures Series 6:
Hanriot HD.1 (from Watch Your Back boxed set, Maneuver F)
Sopwith Triplane (from Famous Aces boxed set, Maneuver D)
For set 6, only the Allied forces seem set. The only Central Powers plane I can see that doesn't have a model is the S. Schuckert D. III (basically a Snipe, but with an additional sharp turn card), so I imagine it will appear in set 6 (but this is conjecture, of course).
I just reread the acrobat feat and discovered that I have been playing it incorrectly. The feat is only available once per dogfight. My real question is: why? I don't really understand if I can do such a thing once why I couldn't do it more than once...
I am requesting an edit of this rule. Thoughts?
Edit: Okay... in another print out I have, it states that Acrobat can be used more than once per dog fight, just not two turns in a row... I like this better. Apparently this one is written by the designer of the game, too.
