Cross-posted (somewhat) from over in the General Forum.
Several monsters, most of which haven't been printed anywhere else, were published in comic books from Kenzer Co. For the sake of completeness, here's a list of them all, that I could find. Note that since these are published by Kenzer, these are D&D, and not OGC.
Dungeons & Dragons: Tempest’s Gate
#1 - “Ogh.” Inside the back cover is a full-page write-up on a new orc subrace, the ogh.
Knights of the Dinner Table
#72 - “Dungeon of the Month: The Garden of Unearthly Delights.” This short dungeon is given dual stats in both 3E and Hackmaster formats, and has a new template at the end, the Guardian Skeleton.
#79 - “Movies on the Battlemat.” The end of this article gives us full 3E stats for a new monster, the Fire Mare, a new minor artifact: The Glaive, and a new magic weapon property: cutting. All are inspired from the movie Krull.
#80 - “Dangerous Denizens.” This article gives a sneak preview for two monsters from Dangerous Denizens: The Monsters of Tellene: the Eaten One and Sturm-Wolf.
#80 - “Movies on the Battlemat.” The end of the articles gives us full 3E stats for the Invader, a monster based on the aliens from the movie Signs.
#83 - “Movies on the Battlemat.” The end of the article has the False Legend template (inspired by The 13th Warrior).
#84 - “Movies on the Battlemat.” The end of the article has the Programmed Assassin template (inspired by The Bourne Identity). d20 Modern.
#89 - “Rustlers of the Night.” This article features an evil Outsider called a Shadow Stalker. Despite the time of publication, it is 3E, not 3.5E. Also, the ability descriptors (Ex, Su, Sp) aren’t listed for the creature’s abilities.
#90 - “Rustlers of the Night.” This article features a new Outsider called the Vodyanoi. Despite the time of publication, it is 3E, not 3.5E. Also, the ability descriptors (Ex, Su, Sp) aren’t listed for the creature’s abilities. Furthermore, no alignment is listed.

"I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you." - Batman, Batman Begins "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." - Harvey Dent, The Dark Knight "Yeah, I can fly." - Tony Stark, Iron Man
Inside my hands these petals browned;
dried up falling to the ground,
but it was already too late now.
I pushed my fingers through the earth,
returned this flower to the dirt;
so it could live, I walked away now."
Rise Against - "The Good Left Undone"
Sorry it took so long. I was away from the 'net for a couple days. It's linked up now.
Good stuff, BTW. That's one source I wouldn't have thought of.
Speaking of obscure sources of monsters, Alzrius, do you remember the D&D Candy from back in the day? It had collector's cards on the back of the box, and some monsters and NPCs were statted out. I asked about this awhile back, but no one remembered much about it. How about you?

Sorry, but I've never even heard of this. I started D&D back at the end of 1993, so I don't know if I came in too late, or just never heard of it, but I never knew that there was a D&D candy until you mentioned it.
That said, I do recall AD&D trading cards, since I had a lot of them. I recall them having lots of abbreviated stats for monsters, magic items, and NPCs, a lot of which were statted nowhere else. I can't remember where I got them from, nor can I seem to find them now (which is annoying, since I know I still have them somewhere), but I definately recall them.

I don't think that there were many monsters from the 1991/1992/1993 AD&D trading cards that only appeared on the cards. Almost all of them also appeared in the Monstrous Compendiums. The only one I can think of off-hand that didn't is the Pegataur (#722 of 1991). Oh, and creature on the cover of the 1st Edition Manual of the Planes changed from being an Ethereal Dreadnought (which the MoP refers to it as) to an Astral Dreadnought with the publication of card #261 of the 1991 set.
I'm very new to D&D comparatively so I wouldn't know much about the candy... A friend of mine does fave a bunch of olde stuff including the never ending dungeon books. Those are cool, and he also has some 1st ed books that his mother owned. There's so much fun you can have playing olde D&D!
Thinking of the comic monsters.... have you thought of tracking down olde Dragon Magazine Beasties that never made it to the new Monster Manuals? I have one that feature Dark Sun monsters from like.... 1996? Not sure but it's older than my D&D career.

Shade, do you have a pic of what the cards looked like? I'm still not certain they aren't the AD&D trading cards I remember.
Unfortunately, I've been unable to locate a pic of the cards (which you would cut out from the back of the box). I wish I'd kept 'em from back in the day. :\

we have in fact converted quite a few monsters from Dragon mag that never made it into other books - most of them are much older than 1996!
I wouldn't doubt it. Hey, any of those in easy to get to links, or are they already in your Catalog BOZ?
If so, I'd like to look. Theres so much cool stuff to look at here.
