I notice that you've changed some of the primary classifications. All forms of Tarrasque, for example, are under "Abomination" now (save for the Spellwarped Woodling Tarrasque, which is under "Spellwarped").

Yup, I made quite a few changes to the classification system this time around, including an overhaul of the dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures and changing "planetouched" from a primary classification to an alternative name. Many of the changes were to better accommodate 4th edition monsters into my classification system, but other were just me fiddling .

The spellwarped woodling tarrasque is listed with the "spellwarped" template because that template changes the base type of the tarrasque to Aberration. Usually, when templates change the base type, I list the creature with the template. If the template doesn't change the type, then sample templated creatures are classified with the main creature.

I'm certain that I haven't applied those rules consistently, but that was my usual thinking. Templates are messy to index, and those entries in the index could use some tidying. But there almost nine hundred templates, so that's a fair amount of tidying

Aww, couldn't the 4e critters just get 3e types?

Who on earth thought an official spellwarped woodling tarrasque was a sensible idea? I think I remember a variant tarrasque article; was that it?

Not easily. The immolith, for example is both a demon and undead. (I've listed it as a demon.) The main classification system in the index is actually fairly edition-neutral, and doesn't reply on creature types. But it still has a bias towards 3rd edition, since most creatures have 3.X stats. I did experiment with having completely separate 3rd and 4th edition classifications, but that didn't work so well.

Yes
