NC Game Day XIV (September 22): Cuz' GenCon Just Wasn't Enough!

Greetings friends! It's time for the next NC Game Day! Didn't get enough awesome games and good times with ENWorlders at GenCon? Come join us. Didn't get to GenCon at all this year? Don't worry, we'll make you green with envy as we recount our harrowing adventures there!

As we've done with the last several events, all registration will take place at the Official NC Game Day Website.

Quote:
To schedule a game, the following must happen in order:

1) You must register on the site, and request to be a GM. If you were a GM on a previous Game Day, you should still be a GM on future Game Days, so go to step 3.

2) An admin (Rel or Morgenes) approves you as a GM.

3) You submit your event (Events -> Submit), filling out the required fields and submitting it.

4) An admin reviews and accepts the event, and assigns it to a table.

Important: Right now we are only taking submissions for GM's to run games. If you're going to run a game send it in as soon as possible. Players can take the next week or so to look over their options. On Friday, August 31st we will open up registration for players to sign up for these games.* We will continue to take submissions for games after this but there is a good chance that folks will already have signed up for stuff so the sooner you get it in, the better your chances of having players.

If you want folks to be able to sign up for your game in advance, use Open Game.

There are two main slots for role-playing games this game day. Either morning or afternoon. Morning runs from 9-2pm. There will be an hour lunch break till 3pm, then the afternoon session runs from 3pm - 8pm.

So when you submit your event, I recommend a start time of either 9am or 3pm, depending on what slot you want to run in.

The additional notes field is so you can tell the administrators about any special needs you might have, like a certain size or shape of table, or power needs.
If you have previously registered at the NC Game Day site then you don't have to do that part. If you've previously run a game at NC Game Day then you don't need to register as a GM. All you have to do at that point is submit your game and have it approved and slotted.

This is also the thread to talk about stuff like where we want to eat on Friday before the Game Day. If there are any other questions, I'm happy to answer them as usual.

*I'm open to suggestions about what time of the day folks would like me to open the Player Registration. Historically I've done it at 5:00 PM but if noon (or some other time) would be better for folks then let me know. I'll go with the majority on this.

Not this one, but April I hope. And after two GenCons, I'm convinced you're all special. Just in different ways.

I'll be there, of course!!

I plan to run a D&D one-shot with characters from the Dungeons & Dragons Cartoon. Prepare for cheesy cheesiness galore!!

You know you can count me in.

And kobolds sounds like loads of fun to me!

As far as the sign-up goes, I'd personally prefer a 12 p.m. sign-up for players because I can't EVER seem to remember to do it in the evening when I get home.

Sadly, I'll be sitting this one out. September is a bit too soon for the wife to say, "go ahead, take off!" Y'all have fun and roast a weenie (or a kobold) in my honor.

If there's one dragon, it's a solo monster.
If there's five dragons, they're standard monsters.
If there's a dozen dragons, either most of them are minions or your DM is tired of the campaign.

It's comfy, too - don't let it go to waste, you out-of-towners!

I was planning on using the characters from the DVD set, tweak their special magic items to be less boring and more like the ones in the cartoon, and then use an adventure of my own invention.

So far, I have some great ideas!!

P.S. And just in case anyone is wondering, I get dibs on Dungeon Master.

Betryal at the House on the Hill

I will be running the game I was too sick to run in January.

You have each been invited by Dorian Greyhaven to attend a get together in honor of the Band of the Red Eagle. Dorian adventured with your parents and is well known for his deeds with the Band and his service to Pelor. His note indicates that he wishes to talk to each of you regarding your parents and pay his respects to their memory by gifting you with mementos from their adventuring days. Intrigued, you journey to his home hoping to learn the mystery of the Band of the Red Eagle, a group that your parents barely mentioned.
