This is very nice, excellent job.

Do you have plan to include higher levels later on?

WotC would REALLY benefit by having something like this as a placeholder on their site until a full-blown character generator came along. The ability to pull up a pregen, or generate a PC in less than 2 minutes, which is what I just did with this thing, is essential to getting people playing and dice rolling.

How many hours, total, would you say this took you to build, Brasswatchman?

If there's one dragon, it's a solo monster.
If there's five dragons, they're standard monsters.
If there's a dozen dragons, either most of them are minions or your DM is tired of the campaign.

With the exception of the expanding dropdownlist rather than instant it is animated, I like this over the flash tools that DDI has. I didn't fully test it, and just made a random character and all things seem to be in order, and it is intuitive, easy to use, and nice clean design and interface.

I don't really care for many flash applications, but this one takes the cake!

Nice work!

Very cool! Thanks for making this.

Any plans to add the monster PC races from the MM (including Drow and Genasi from FRPG)?

Thanks. I'm afraid not. I've been doing this on the side of a full-time job, so I don't really expect to find myself in a place where I can easily tackle levels 2-30. Still, hope that the tool is useful to people, especially for those starting out with 4e.

My thoughts exactly. That's why I offered them the program for free. No response back for about two/three weeks, though, so I don't think it's likely to happen.

Hmm... hard to say. I'm pretty sure that the first version of the program took me about two to three weeks to churn out... mind you, all of this was on my off-hours from my job. I've been adding features to it off-and-on ever since; in total, it's taken me about two months to get to this point (though about a week or two of that was sitting around waiting for Wizards to get back to me).

Anyway. If I had to guess, I'd estimate the project probably took me the equivalent of two to three working weeks to finish. So call it somewhere between 80 and 120 hours, probably closer to the lower.

I'll admit that I've been hearing that request from a lot of people. (In particular, a few people really seem to want me to add orcs). That said, I'm afraid I'm probably going to try to keep it simple for the time being and limit things to what's in the PHB. I'll be sure to keep your feedback in mind, though; we'll see how things go in the future.
