I seem to recall some talk that the war of the burning sky will be going 4e here before too long...any eta on that?

No idea on the official version, but our 'once a month' campaign just converted over with the last session. The conversion work was done by our GM and one of the players, however.

We just arrived at the Monastary of the Two Winds (?) and did the initial battle as our baptism into 4e. Quite a lot of fun to have two Rogues, a Wizard and a Bard (our own design) go nova with all our powers in that battle, knowing we wouldn't have any other encounters that day.

I think they are working on it, but waiting on the .... [drumroll]... new GSL, as Morrus has said it will not be converted under the current one. Of course, I guess it could mean that they intend to go OGL /shudder, like GG for example.

Cheers

Gad I hope they don't go OGL. The GG product I purchased that used the OGL was annoying with the different symbols and different words for things. Morrus must be making some $ off WotBS in it's current form, as I'd see no reason to not adopt the GSL otherwise.

I am currently waiting for the deluxe 3.5 hardback version, which should be out soon. I imagine that is taking up most of EN Publishing's time at the moment.

After that (assuming it doesn't bankrupt them!) they can move onto 4th edition.

It'll be interesting to see how it looks. The last fight we had was against :-

Spoiler:
35 4th level fighters,
3 8th level fighters
3 11th level fighters
3 7th level clerics
1 12th level cleric
2 wyverns (with riders)
and a fiendish war mammoth

That took the best part of two sessions under 3.5, especially since the "minions" had 35 hit points each. I think 4th edition might have been a better fit for that particular encounter

Hey. 35 hit points is flat average damage for a fireball at your level. I tried man. I really tried to make mooks who can die by the dozen yet still be a threat.

Oh, and we're reviewing the pdf for adventure 12 right now, looking for stuff that needs fixin'.

No worries, its probably my fault, not yours.

The Ragesians took care to keep themselves spread out, for the entire encounter. My usual answer to "how many can I get with a fireball" was 3.

Spoiler:
I wanted to see what the party would do. The eventual solution was to summon a bunch of huge dire wolves and let them munch on the isolated enemy soldiers. The survivors broke and ran once the last higher level guy died.

It's out, baby! We're finally finished. It feels like the end of an era.
