There's no way this could be a drunk post... it's too early!

requested URL not found This is a SHAM!!! ....................ok.

EDIT: If my geek-o-meter is working correctly then this picture appeared on the character record sheets folder during the Moldvay Basic set time, thus pre-dating Mentzer.

Hmmm.. wrong picture. It might have been in the actual Moldvay Expert set. I will look it up when I get home.

I was like "You could play the Martian Manhunter in Expert Rules? Neat."

Of course, in practical terms, that was essentially true, wasn't it?

definitely a superheroic kind of guy.

I suppose Mentzner Expert was deemed as the Comicbook/"Superhero" edition, right?

Upon further consideration of that illustration I'd like to add...

Internally-consistent fantasy world my ass, that picture sums up everything that's right about D&D. Including what's wrong.

I figure he took an optional "Follically Challenged" disadvantage to get a couple extra skill points.

This image shows the classic D&D party: a group of evil, sadistic freebooters (regardless of what is written under "alignment" in their character sheets) assaulting a poor, old leper for the XP and his stuff. You can tell by their looks of murderous glee as the leper raises his gnarled hands in supplication, begging for mercy he will not find in the cold, greedy hearts of the PCs.

Love it!
