Haven't got to game in a while but if I do I have no objection to drinking. I'm not a beer man but do like an occassional glass of wine or mixed drink when playing. Back when we got together regularly, two of the gamers would have an occasional beer or two or possibly a bourbon and coke. So i voted 2.
My current groups don't drink because it's against the club's by-laws for both insurance reasons and because we let people under 21 join. The members are the usual mix of drinkers and non-drinkers though.

When I'm DMing, I find that even one beer wrecks my concentration... and I need every advantage I can get!
When I'm playing, I'd be happy to have a beer or two over the course of the session, but past experience has made me a little hesitatant to open that door.
Previous groups I've been in that did crack beers during sessions got a little *too* casual for my tastes. I'd rather focus on the game and stick to coffee/coke
But if somebody else wanted to crack one or two I wouldn't have a major problem with it.

I won't lie, most of my good friends are lushes. We drink..a lot. So of course when we game we drink a bit. Usually 6 beers and a couple shooters of Bushmills. Some nights its more, some nights its less. I'm not sure if I have ever gamed without beers since I've been 18 to be honest. I love beer and beer loves me.
"My Bi monthly/monthly game has drunks, stoners and probably one or two heroin addicts in it. The only rule comes from the player who's house we game at, You can come to the party pre medicated but once your there legal substances only. I know for a fact one or two of them come in wasted, but strangley enough it doesn't affect game play at all.
I just have to ask: is there a Story Hour for this game?"
Honestly my weekly game is far more entertaining, if you ever get the chance to game with Mark Clover at a game day at Games Plus in Mt Prospect Illinois youll know why.

Reason: I hit quick reply instead of qoute, cuz im special like that.
*If my players want their charecters to live, one of them better have beer to sacrifice to the DM.
*Sometimes we also have wine.
*Mulling wine while DMing (while drinking) is hard.
*I have had better luck with hot toddies
*Actually, I could go for one of those right now.
*Newcastle Brown Ale: love it. Have some at the house right now.
*I wish it came in big bottles here.
*I think someone just brought it up as an excuse to post some pictures.
*Morrus, when you are back in DC, I will get some of the beer I drank as a student...and we can remove paint with it.
4E has rituals, use them, they're magic; Want to see the greatest thing you will ever see? then click; You can use “Earth” as a D&D setting; Origins of The Rouse; (look for it) The Rouse responds; (look for it) One can appreciate both old and new D&D.
There's a Sake factory right down the street and the company also apparently makes Scotch. I'm not exactly sure how they call it scotch, and not whiskey, but apparently they do.
And speaking of repulsive...
TerraDave... Man to each his own dude... but seriously... my own considers mulled wine to be one of the biggest affronts to mankind in the history of stuff that sucks!
OFFTOPIC: In the early 1900's, the owner of Japan's largest (at the time) sake brewer became enamored with scotch whiskey, and took all of his best people on a tour of Scottish distilleries. He obtained the secret to making scotch and took it home with him, converting his sake breweries into scotch distilleries. Today, Suntory produces 75% of Japan's scotch, and is considered to be among the higher-quality single-malt whiskeys available. Scotch is the second-most popular liquor in Japan today.
EDIT: There is a reason, legally speaking, that the Japanese (and only the Japanese) can call their single-malt whiskey "scotch." It dates back to when scotch-distilling was first exported there. It's in a book around here (*rummages through mess on floor*), but I can't seem to find it.

Suntori make excellent scotch. They actually import peat from Scotland and use it to filter the water they use in the distilling process. At a very nice scotch tasting night I went to a couple of years ago I tried the Suntori and tried it again. And again. The only thing I had that night that was better was a gorgeous single malt from Ardbeg Distillery. (Lord of the Isles IIRC.) So, big thumbs up for Suntori.
As an aside: that nightI also drank Welsh scotch and and Indian scotch. BRRRRRR. Don't. Just don't.

If it's OD&D, I'll brew my own beer from a useful baseline.
If it's 1e, I'll drink three different beers, depending on the situation.
If it's 2e, I'll start with -3 beers, and I'll drink up to 0.
If it's 3e, I'll only drink the beer after I study the label very closely.
If it's 4e, I can only tell what beers I've drank after I'm already drunk.
If it's Call of Cthulu, I'll drink beer until my SAN drops too low.
If it's Paranoia, I'll try to get someone else to drink the beer first, just so I know it's not poisoned.
If it's FFZ, I'll drink until I'm sharing my feelings with everyone.
Best answer in thread.

On the ale debate, personally I think of Newcastle Brown Ale as much of a muchness with John Smiths, Worthingtons, Boddingtons etc - they're all ok. London Pride is really good though, when I moved to London 8 years ago I was pleasantly surprised to discover they make good beer down here!
Edit: When I GM'd at home I used to sometimes have a nice single malt whisky instead of beer. My favourites are Laphroaig, which is very peaty & smoky, and Balvenie, which comes from a distillery near my parents' house in the Grampian mountains.
None. When I do get the chance to game it is usually with a group of various ages from 16 - 42. [We] find it inappropriate to drink around those that shouldn't be.
