Design the DDM Guild Logo

The DDM Guild is a global alliance of D&D Miniatures skirmish enthusiasts dedicated to keeping the skirmish game alive and continuing the fun of casual and competitive play in a variety of formats. Wizards of the Coast recently announced that the Guild will be granted a license to continue making skirmish stat cards for future D&D Miniatures releases. In addition, WotC will maintain tournament sanctioning and players' ratings and rankings through the DCI database.

The Guild will launch officially at D&D Experience 2009. However, the Guild plans to begin publication of a quarterly newsletter in December 2008. To that end, we are in need of finalizing the selection of a DDM Guild logo.

Several preliminary ideas have been submitted, but the Guild would like to offer some additional design guidelines, as well as a deadline for submission. All Guild members are welcome to submit designs. Please note the following criteria:

Submission Deadline: December 8, 2008

Logo submissions may be posted in this thread. Please submit or resubmit logos in the following formats:

  • Full-size version
  • Color version
  • Black-and-white version
  • Icon-sized version (i.e. no more than 1/8 in x 1/8 in)
  • White-on-black version on each of the D&D 4e standard colors (cf. the spines of the 4E core rulebooks)
  • The logo should work both with the words 'DDM Guild' next to it and without.
  • The logo should have some level of compatibility with the DDM Guild coat of arms, designed by Justin Bass of Indiana (see below).

The coat of arms is gorgeous, but it's not a logo

No, I mean a logo. The Nike swoosh is the best example I can think of.
