[quote=grodog;4608649]Thanks for the info, Luke. I'm working on an update to my Anagrams and Homages page @ Gygax's Greyhawk Anagrams, Puns, and Homages so if you have any corrections/additions you think would be worthwhile, I'd love to hear them (via email: grodog@gmail.com).

Hi Alan- I will take a look and see if there is anything I can help you out with. Happy New Year!

Luke

Obviously I am partial to my Dad's style of DMing because that is what I cut my teeth on. My Dad was a very good player too, but my brother Ernie was pretty sharp and very lucky with the die rolls. Rob Kuntz was an exceptional player from my Dad's stories. He was devious and could map dungeons in his head w/o getting lost (not bad if you ever played in Castle Greyhawk). My Dad recalled with great relish how he designed the Tomb of Horrors specifically to consternate Rob- and sure enough he managed to get a dead orc in the bottom of every pit in the ToH Note: Robilar was a CE fighter that often used his humanoid minions as canon fodder when dungeoneering.

You played when you were 4 or 5? Holy cow. I have a nephew who is going to be 4 this spring, and I can't wait to play with him. He is a smart creative kid and I know we will all have a blast. I figured he would have to be 7 or 8 before he was able to play, but I think I just re-adjusted my time-table.

What game did you play at age 4? Not AD&D right? Was it Basic, or Original D&D? Or some variation your father made up?
