While you should be applauded for the work you are doing (for free, I might add), good luck bringing any new players. Kids who buy minis will not, in my experience, go on the interweb looking to see if there is another game associated with them. They won't go searching for the DDM Guild*. They will assume the minis are for RPG use only.

*Unless WotC features it prominently on packaging, which I doubt they will do.

Possibly easier to get hold of the minis down there than up here. I know both Wizards Books & Games and Outer Limits have been horrid in thier ability to get hold of the stock and in thier prices when they do .

Take2 has had better prices but been unrealiable at best

Heh. I live in rural North West Province, a long way from even a bad game store. I order all my D&D stuff (books and minis) online, and last time I checked that worked out only marginally more expensive (and a lot more reliable) than trying to buy locally.

Do you buy/collect minis Phaezen?

Hmph.

So they've combined the two worst possible ideas into one format and delivered it unto us at an increased cost.

I'm glad the DDM people got fired.

Hell yeah. Stick a bunch of fifty monsters into a cheapass plastic bag and sell it with no label and pass on the decreased cost of packaging and I'd be a happy chappy.

Despite my suspicions otherwise, I'll accept your good luck wishes, Sam I agree that we need a way to market beyond the internet. Happily, we've attained the assistance of a talented marketer, and I'm involved on several game industry retailer forums. Again, we've got some work ahead of us, but please don't make our job more difficult with all the doom and gloom, mkay?

It's not just mean; it's wrong. Steve Schubert, Rob Heinsoo, and Peter Lee still enjoy employment at WotC. Perhaps the OP was thinking of the DDI folks who were let go.

Done. I really want you guys to succeed. In fact, if I had time to devote to the Guild, I'd be doing my share to help now, too.

But you won't see me singing praises to WotC any time soon...

And the three gentlemen mentioned above are great guys, who worked hard to make WotC-produced minis as good as possible, and who were every bit as frustrated with the production and QC problems as we were. So please, even if there certainly are some people at WotC who deserve the ire, the DDM team does not deserve it.

Fair enough, and thank you If you do find the time, or if you find another interested local, we'd love to have your support.

This? No, not getting it.
My understanding is that in the summer another set comes out that is creatures. The catch- some are random and unviewed with some visible. I fear for this line already.

No one has mentioned the heading- "Player's Handbook Heroes" that is on the packageing.

Does this mean every year there will be a "The Heroes of Players Handbook II, III etc" or Heroes of the Psionic Handbook or Eberron Campaign Book etc....?

Just curious.

and thankyou for the pictures. The sites I used to use to preview figures have discontinued the service (they more for the Skirmish side than Roleplaying) and I won't subscribe to WoTC website.

Both Players Handbook Heroes, Series 1 (18 PC figures in visible packages of three) and Monster Manual: Dangerous Delves (40 monster figures in packages of 5, with one visible figure) release on May 19, 2009.

Players Handbook Heroes, Series 2 and Monster Manual: Dungeon Lords (in which the visible figure will be a huge figure) will release in August 2009.

Just curious, what sites do you visit? The first picture appeared on the WotC forum, and I started a discussion on Hordelings pretty much immediately. I recommend Hordelings.com as a great source of information.
