Simm Goblin Sharpshooter (Lvl 2)
Help me find a god

So I'm going to be starting a new campaign soon and have been working on setting material. I usually don't like to build thing from scratch and prefer adapting or mixing already existing elements. When designing my pantheon, however I discovered there was a roll I wanted filled that no god I could find was appropriate for. All of the evil gods I found are so destructive it's a wonder they can convince anyone to worship them.

I'm looking for as evil god with a focus on selfishness and corruption. Where us the god who says "put yourself first, do what benefits you and deal with the consequences when they come." Basically I'm trying to find a D&D version of Slaanesh.

We at OBE recently released Gods of the Shroud, a standalone pantheon. Among the gods was The Voracious Host, whose tenets are:
Quote:
**See to your own need and survival before others. Do not steal or live off the largesse of others any longer than necessary.
**Hard work is the way to survive. He who steals or cheats his way to comfort is doomed.
**Live a life of comfort and plenty, but remember always that the winter is coming and preparations must be made.
The pdf includes a full write-up of the god, a new channel divinity feat, a magic item, and some adventure ideas, and of course includes similar write-ups of a dozen other gods.

A Slaanesh by any other name would work as well.

Ares, the greek god of war and glory fits this description. Some versions of Aphrodite fit this description, as her influence was seen as weakening. Her son Eros/Cupid could definitely be a creature of hedonism.

Then there's Loki. This sometimes-helpful deity was also a trickster and schemer, and transformed himself into a mare. As a mare, he bore offspring, Slepnir and the Midgard Serpent. Given his prophesied role in the end of the world, it is not hard to get a step further and describe him as a sinsister, evil force of corruption.

How about Dlamelish from Tekumel? ('Good' and 'Evil' don't really work there so well).

Hiddukel from Dragonlance. The Broken Scale. God of Exploitation.

Doesn't have the decadent fleshy pleasure aspect of Slaanesh but fits selfishness and corruption.

Akraisha (spelling?) from Eden Studios' excellent Thief of Time sourcebook would fit somewhat.

She's the goddess of procrastination, sloth and the promotion of temporary short term gains instead of working for greater, longer lasting long term gains.

An interesting irony is that her clerics cannot strive too energetically to promote her faith, because that would be contrary to her promotion of sloth.
