So, the description says "subscribe for $4.00 per issue including delivery." I put the sub in my cart and went to check out, and the system wanted to charge me $4 for delivery. So, what's up? I'd like to subscribe and see what the first 4e print mag gives us, just want to make sure the price is accurate.

I wasn't quite sure what that meant either, I assumed since it's quarterly it was $1 an issue to mail. I went ahead and completed my subscription.
I'm thankful that they didn't go the draconian route that Privateer Press does with their no subscription policy for No Quarter. I'm actually considering dropping the collection because of it.
I posed this question in the other thread about Dragon and Dungeon print mags but I'll ask again.
I seem to remember Goodman or some publisher interested in snatching up David Noonan after WotC let him go. Is he involved in Level Up?
That would certainly be a selling point for me if he was.
I remember the thread where Goodman was looking for Noonan, but I didn't ever hear that they had in fact hired him. I'm guessing there would have been an announcement, so my impression is that it didn't work out. (Of course I have no actual info).
We can help. Drop me a PM with the store's info and I'll get on it.
I opted for the personal subscription. (My LGS lacks the F for a reason. It's mainly a "Come play video games by the hour here" shop with some comics and gaming books on the side, and about a 45 minute drive. Not worth the trip for once a month.)
I do, however, really appreciate you offering to do that personally. That shows your desire to help the brick and mortar, and I am glad that I support your company.

Just wanted to give you a quick update. Grey Haven and Strategies Games already carry the full Goodman Games line and will continue to bring in our complete line. Is one of them near you? Drop them a line and place your pre-order for Level Up...

Help me out here, the owners name is Tim Gatehouse
I spoke with the store owner today. His 4E business seems to be slow, so he's hesitant to bring in anything new. The best bet here is to start giving him business. Start purchasing and pre-ordering 4E books from him (both WotC and Goodman Games) and he'll probably be more willing to bring in a broader line. He said he's very willing to special order whatever you want. I'll be sending him a promotional care package soon, so if you stop by in about 2-3 weeks Goodman Games should be fresh in his mind...

And "private to Dayton, OH", regarding stores in Dayton:
Bookery in Fairborn, OH has the complete Goodman Games line.
Bell, Book, and Comic in Dayton, OH is looking into adding Goodman Games. They're willing to do special orders.
Krystal Keep in Kettering, OH is having a slow time with 4E. They carry all the older Goodman Games 3.5 product and are deliberating about whether to add 4E.
Finally, Maverick's in Kettering, OH is looking into it, and, again, is willing to do special orders.
All these guys will be getting care packages, so a visit about 2-3 weeks from now would be a great time to place a special order.

I don't like being the bearer of bad news but this magazine is NOT the only print magazine licensed under the GSL that prints 4ematerial as they claim. Dragon Roots print and pdf magazine is licensed under GSL and the OGL and prints both 3.5 and 4e material and is at least 70 pages high quality print. Also, I am sure that Kobold Quarterly also contains 4e material. You can find out more information about Dragon Roots magazine at DRAGON ROOTS.
As to price, without knowing the full details about the print they are running or what their print run size is but going off of what I know from researching printers for Dragon Roots, $2 an issue would barely cover the printing costs after you pay for things like art and stuff. I have my doubts too about how long they can keep this price up.
I full support any magazine or company or individual that tries to promote the role playing industry. I am concerned that they claim to be the "only" licensed magazine for the GSL. That is not factual.
