General RPG DiscussionDiscussion of all RPGs and non-system-specific topics. DM/GM/player issues, settings, etc. Rules discussion belongs in one the forums below.
The purpose of this thread is to give a place for those dysfunctional community members to come and ask forgiveness and hopefully begin to change their ways. I'll go first.
Dear EN World,
I am guilty of posting horrible flamebait screeds in several threads over the course of a year and a half. I am sorry.
I will try not to provoke arguments over D&D editions. I will not respond to such arguments in other threads, even to reply to someone who's engaging me or quoting me out of context.
I will encourage others to ignore flamebait and hope the mods sort out the flamers.
I will try my best to support EN World by being a considerate and creative poster.
As atonement requires sacrifice, I will purchase a community supporter account.
Finally, I apologize to Ari Marmell, who's character I questioned when I should not have.

1) All monsters have 1/2 max HP and deal double damage on attacks, except minions.
2) Subtract 2 from each defense of all monsters and increase all damage die sizes by one. If the die is already a d12, simply add +2 to their damage.

Good for you! Thankfully, the atmosphere here has become a lot closer to its old level of friendliness lately IMO. Every little bit more is great!

I saw these large elephants tethered to a small stake. I asked him, 'How can you keep such a large elephant tied to such a small stake?' He said, 'When the elephants are small, they try to pull out the stake, and they fail. When they grow large, they never try to pull out the stake again.' That parable reminds me that we have to go for what we think we're fully capable of, not limit ourselves by what we've been in the past." -Vivek Paul

I don't know dude- I heard that guy pulls feats and powers from some questionable source books... And I still didn't see a good explanation for that +1... err not that character?
.......So your position is 4e is the best version their is and all the other versions are kindling? Or is three.x, two.0, 1.3,1.2,1.1, BECMI, Moldvay/Cook, Holmes, OD&DwS, or OD&D the best version??

I apologize for the use of the word "more" without the qualifying "for me". My intent was never an edition war, but rather a nerdstalgiac "God I love AD&D. Here's why! Do you love AD&D too? Why? No? Why?" etc...
Interestingly, I had a conversation today that led to the decision that I would be running 3.x in the DCC Known World (compromise between Old School and New School between me and one of my players).
You can't win 'em all.

Truthfully, I'd forgotten all about that, but... Apology happily accepted.
Thank you. It's bugged me for like, forever now.

What? Do you mean me?
Hmm... My position is that I'm really digging 4e. I love D&D. I'll play and enjoy every version.
What is 'best' is subjective.
And I'm done arguing about it. I'm sorry I ever have.

Clearly, Rolemaster is superior to all editions of D&D! What I really mean is. . . I'm sorry for causing a ruckus by calling out Reynard yesterday. I should have thought through the likely reprecussions of my actions before I took them and do sincerely apologize for any discomfort that others experienced as a result of my selfishness.
