Looking for 4th edition adventure suggestions

I moved to the other side of the DM screen for a while, since one of my players wanted to take a shot at DMing some 4th edition stuff. While I am enjoying my Dwarven Tactical Warlord (yes, a sub-optimal build, thats that the topic at hand though), I am starting to look into running a game again.

Given my own preferences and time constraints, I am not too interested in doing everything homebrew at the moment, so that means published adventures. The only problem is that the guy running a game in which I am a player started off with Keep on the Shadowfell.

So what other low level 4th edition adventures are worth running? I will consider anything starting from 1st to 3rd level. As a D&D Insider subscriber, I can choose any of the Dungeon Magazine adventures, in addition to the published stand alone modules. Rescue at Rivenroar is not an unreasonable jumping off point for me, but having actually run the Red Hand of Doom adventure, I would like to get away from Hobgoblin armies for now.

I'd suggest looking over the 3rd party 4e options. One such adventure is Dungeon Claw Classic #59 - Mists of Madness (Goodman Games). This will give a good taste of running 4e for only two bucks.

Note - I'm in no way affiliated with Goodman Games...just a fan/customer.

I like Goodman Games. However, so far I am not a big fan of their 4E adventures. The ones I have seem to be stuck in 3.5 mode of encounter design. More brute force encounters and less of the creativity 4E seems to encourage. Traps mostly sitting by themselves.

Then again, maybe I have just picked up the wrong 4E adventures so far.

There's Scales of War on DDI..

Also you can get the 2-3 level adventure that was available for free rpg day, I think that one is available as a PDF on the wizards site somewhere

Other than that, it's a little more work but you could pick up Dungeon Delve and tie the delves together with some simple plot, at least until you get to level 4 to start H2

That all sounds good. I am hoping for something along the lines of a very short synopsis / review of anything reccomended. I assume the delves are just crawls (I could be wrong).

As for Thunderspire Labyrinth, it sounds like it is mostly a traditional dungeon. What kind of monsters populate the adventure?

As an example of what I am looking for, here is how I would describe the Red Hand of Doom.
5 chapter adventure, starts with mostly Hogboblins + Dragonspawn, last part has some demons. There are several dragons. Adventure is outdoors and tied to a generic region, several indoor locations. Levels 4 through 10 (3rd edition)

Why not take a look at some free adventures?

Six free adventures
Raiders of Oakhurst, Reloaded
Return of the Burning Plague
The vase
Second Son
Children of Solgram
Blue Moutain Inn

Another possibility is finding someone who will sell you can a copy of "Wrath of the River King"; Wolfgang Baur wrote the adventure for a select group of people; it's not purcahable. But I imagine you could offer someone who owns a copy some cash and they will share it with you. It's a very, very solid adventure, if a bit random.

I would definitely pick the Goodman Games stuff (unless you have some way on getting your hands on the Open Source adventure Wrath of the River King). You can find short mini-reviews in my sig.

The first 4E Goodman Games adventures were rough around the edges but they've improved considerably.

If you're willing to stray off the beaten path, we're having a lot of fun running Sceptre Tower of Spellgard (I did a lot of re-making and winging it, though).

Sadly, currently on hiatus. I blame the government and the school system. No, really, I do.

If you're willing to do a little work, there's also simply taking a 3e adventure and converting it.
