D&D really needs Huge snake and octopus/kraken minis. These are sorely missing from the game.

As for the towers, siege weapons, walls, etc., WotC should put out a separate pack of terrain that would include stuff like that. If they wanted to expand, they could throw in doors, gates, etc.

There's already a large ballista mini out there. I have two!

Inspiration from Dragon Turtle

Someone mentioned the Dragon Turtle. While I don't see this as particularly popular, it got me thinking:

What about INTERACTIVE miniatures?

For instance, a dragon turtle whose scales on its shell just happen to be in a square grid. Medium creatures with their standard base size could move around on it easily, as if on a grid.

A Kraken with tentacles that hold a medium mini's base.

The water elemental that is detachable from the base to engulf a medium is a great idea.

The siege towers that are stackable (and could hold minis inside?) are great.

VEHICLES: everyone needs a carriage. Horses that can be attached would be great too. Rowboat/ship would also be a great seller, I think.

Ridable horses. Those that can actually hold a mini. It might look a bit silly, as the mini would be standing on the horse's saddle, but that might be able to be overlooked.

I can envision a whole line of "manmade" minis with ships, carriages, catapaults, ballista, chariots, etc.

Those (War Drums #01 Arcane Ballista) aren't bad but more Huge figs would work better for larger war scenarios.

Great ideas with the siege weapons and the interactive minis!

Here are some Huge minis outside the box:

1. Angry mob that holds a PC in the center
2. Swarm of critters (technically not huge but worthy of a big mini)
3. War elephant/mammoth
4. Huge nature spirit/elemental emerging from landscape
5. Wicker Man (from Fiend Folio)
6. Inescapable death trap
7. Cerberus the 3-headed hound of hell
8. Lord of the Wild Hunt mounted on dire elk (wishful thinking I know)

Hey all!

What about the Tarrasque's Leg?

Has WotC ever considered making larger models in pieces that can be snapped together (or glued together I suppose). I seem to recall Marvel doing something like this whereby with each different set you got a piece of Galactus, so after buying six sets (or whatever) you had the whole thing.

You could do this with the stalled Orcus Model release. Or the Primordial Hydra.

If they snap in and out of place then the hydra would be fun to use when the PCs have vorpal weapons.

Divide and Conquer...could be the tagline.

As regards the 8 mini's themselves.

1. Balor - has to be there, the old Balor model wasn't great and I must say I don't like the pose from the art in the 4E MM - a bit more of an action pose would be cool.

2. Soulspike Devourer

3. Dracolich

4. Godforged Colossus

5. Gibbering Orb - rotatable...by that I mean it hovers using a clear plastic stand, which can be inserted into different orifices (if you'll pardon the expression) around the sphere, so that you can set it in maybe a dozen different positions.

6. Mordant Hydra

7. Glabrezu...although I must say I have hated the look of the Glabrezu ever since 2E, and I don't like that its huge either (in the rules) - should be large.

8. [Insert Dragon]

Marvel did this for Galactus, Sentinel robot, Giant-Man and The Blob.

DC did this for Metamorpho.

And I say it's a neat idea.

Elephant w/ howdah!
Tri-horn Behemoth w/ howdah!
Astral Dreadnaught, with separate floating eyeball.

What about a Unique Eladrin Lord with a huge-sized mount? Perhaps that one sea-lord riding the crest of a living wave (making the water elemental folks kinda happy)

My preferences for Huge minis? In no particular order:
  • Huge Green Dragon with nose-horn! (I want it the 4E-way, or no way.);
  • Huge Blue Dragon (my favorite!);
  • Huge Balor;
  • Huge Snake/serpent;
  • Huge Otyugh;
  • Huge Draconic Wraith, in translucent-black plastic;
  • Huge Golem/Colossus;
  • Huge Hydra;
  • Huge Phoenix, Roc, or Thunderbird;
  • (Huge-sized) Zombie throng;

And probably some other cool stuff too.

I want both dynamic solos and high utility other huges. I want the '10 packs to contain:

1 Totally Awesome Visible Huge (a rare huge)
1 High Utility, but NOT QUITE SO AWESOME Huge (an uncommon huge)
1 Guaranteed large (rare quality)
2 Common/Uncommon (whatever you want to call them).

If I were doing 8 Visible Huges, my top candidates would be:

1.) Huge Blue Dragon
2.) Huge Green Dragon
3.) Huge Copper Dragon
4.) Huge Gold Dragon
5.) Huge Beholder
6.) Balor
7.) Angel of Prophecy (or other huge angel)
8.) Baphomet
9.) Orcus
10.) Demogorgon
11.) Solar/Planetar (if huge)
12.) Huge Aboleth

The high utility figures would be:

1.) Goristro
2.) Fell Troll
3.) Titans (whatever wo don't have)
4.) Pheonix
5.) War Elephant
6.) Thunderhawk
7.) Huge Titan Zombie/Skeleton
8.) Something that looks like a Huge Water Elemental
9.) Tendriculous - (Btw: A Tendriculous doesn't need to look like a lump - it can be quite dynamic).

In terms of the other figures, I'd want them to support huges in theme. If your huge figures included a fire titan, add azer and fire giants to the set.
