Happy 40th edition!

So yesterday, which just happened to be 8 days shy of my 40th birthday, I was dropping off some chairs at a friend's house on the way to brunch someplace else. I saw the friend in the window waving, so I put down the chairs on his porch and waited for him to open the door. When a few seconds passed and he didn't open it, my wife told me, "Just open the damn door!"

I opened the door. Inside the room were forty or so of my friends, wearing T-shirts emblazoned with this image:

SURPRISE!!!

I always knew my wife would make a good rogue, but I didn't know just how good... I was so surprised, she could have sneak attacked me for two or three rounds!

That is my face on the orc or goblin or whatever it is. The resemblance is uncanny. Well, except for the ears. Also, I'm a little paler. But they did get the muscles pretty accurately. And if you can't tell since this image is a little small, it says "40th Edition" on the bar at the bottom, under my name Ryan XXX (last name redacted for Intarwebs).

They gave me a sweatshirt with the picture on it and wrote on it with a sharpie pen. Some of the better slogans:

Quote:
+1 Int, -1 Str, -1 Con
which later on became

Quote:
+1 Int, -1 Str, -1 Con, +11 Belly
and, of course

Quote:
39th edition was so much better!!!
Anyway, I thought ENWorlders might get a kick out of this. And though she will probably never read this, big props to my wife Darlene!

You're only as rich as the friends you have. And you Sir, are a very wealthy man! Happy Birthday!
