D&D rocks!
Hi or lo fantasy,
heroic or GnG,
1e, 4e, or in between e,
O, A, BECMI or any other D&D,
with this group or that group, new PCs or old PCs or mixed PCs...
No matter how much you play, there's always more!
Huzzah!

I'm just going to jump in as well and say "HELL YES!"
We really need to focus on this, D&D is great and we love it so much, we actively sought out a place on the internet to discuss how awesome it is with other like minded folks.
My weekly game take splace on Sunday, so it's postponed due to the holiday, and I'm seriously bummed out about it. I went out to my FLGS and bought P3 just for something new to read over the weekend. Plus I'll update some DM notes, and maybe work out some tiles/terrain for upcoming adventure locales. Why? All because I love the hobby.
Well I certainly have feelings of a strong, positive nature about D&D. I'm just not sure I want to lead D&D on by using the L-word. But no question, D&D and I have had some wonderful times together! In fact I'm currently running a 4eD&D campaign and I think it's my best DMing ever.
*cue musical montage of me running through a grassy meadow with D&D*
But I still maintain my freedom to date other game systems! I don't want D&D getting all sulky when I run some more Kobolds Ate My Baby in a couple weeks.
Props to Piratecat and the Rouse for being class acts! Way to go!
Look, this doesn't have to be Extremely Negative World. I come here mostly for the news, but I also like to have some good D&D discussion.
I don't want to mourn the loss of Arneson; I want to celebrate his life and the gift he and Gygax gave to us all. D&D has changed my life for the better in many ways, all thanks to the foundations laid down by Gygax and Arneson.
I believe that if you look for doom and gloom, you're going to find it. Likewise, if you look for the positive, you will find it. People have predicted the end of D&D for ages now, and you know, we're still here over 30 years later, strong as ever.
I believe that fighting over gaming editions or settings is kind of silly. Different strokes for different folks. I think my sig covers how I feel about that. What's more important - being right, or playing the game?
I wanted to say thank you to Wizards of the Coast for putting out the Dungeons & Dragons game. I may not always agree with everything you guys do, but I truly do enjoy the products you produce and for being the driving force behind keeping this hobby I dearly love alive.

I've played 1st edition AD&D, 2E, 3E (which is the first edition I played), 4E, OD&D, Basic D&D - and I just want to say one thing: I Love D&D!
Amen, brother! I, too, shall don the Tutu of D&D Goodness.
Here, here! This was exactly the pick-up I needed heading into my weekend (and game night here in about half an hour).
I've played and loved every edition of D&D there is, starting in the late 70s. I expect to play and love at least a few more before I shuffle off this mortal coil.
I may sometimes be attracted to another game for a while, or be driven away because of things that really leave a bad taste in my mouth, but eventually I always come back.

"At first I was like... was it something I said?
But, you know what? I. love. being a gamer.
I called my mom last night and I was like 'guess what?'
and she said 'what?' and I said "I'm a gamer, rawr!"

Since when did ENWorld become engulfed by the plane of negative energy? Lately I've been reading mostly bad news, Dave Arneson dying, the PDF debacle, people predicting the (more or less) imminent death of D&D (Ryan Dancey), lots of threads discussing stuff like "will WoW/the iPhone/Video games/Chuck Norris kill D&D?", increased hostility towards WoTC, constant speculation whether or not 4E is a commercial failure (always in that angle, never wondering if it is a success, also dwelling on the possibility of failure). Now, I'm not saying that many (if not all) of these issues are important and worth discussing, but there has been too much doom & gloom lately.
I've played 1st edition AD&D, 2E, 3E (which is the first edition I played), 4E, OD&D, Basic D&D - and I just want to say one thing: I Love D&D!
I just picked up copies of the 1e PHB, DMG, and MM. They are quirky in their own ways. But awesome? Heck yeah.

We’re not unreasonable; I mean, no one’s gonna eat your eyes
All we want to do is eat your brains
We’re at an impasse here; maybe we should compromise:
If you open up the doors
We’ll all come inside and eat your brains
I saw them sitting there playing an RPG
The DM said to roll a d20
The game was going strong, playing all night long
I could tell it wouldn't be long ‘til they were gaming with me
Yeah me
I could tell it wouldn't be long ‘til they were gaming with me
Yeah me
Singing, I love D&D
So roll another die on the table, baby
I love D&D
So come on Friday night and game with me
They smiled so I came over and asked to game
I said I’d like to play, if it’s all the same.
We can play here or at home, where we can roll some bones
And next we're gaming on, they were playing with me
Yeah me
Next we were gaming on, they were playing with me
Yeah me
Singing, I love D&D
So roll another die on the table, baby
I love D&D
So come on Friday night and game with me
I said we can play here or at home where we can roll some bones
Next we're gaming on, they were playing with me
Yeah me
And they'll be gaming on and singing that same old song
Yeah with me
Singing, I love D&D
So roll another die on the table, baby
I love D&D
So come on Friday night and game with me
Almost wish my normal D&D group wasn't taking off for Easter.
Heck, you pulled Scott Rouse out of his hiding place! Bravo!
Sometimes we need a thread like this (or the "D&D is awesome" thread) to get past all the sniping and edition wars, the fears and anxieties, and all the pettiness.
