| You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray.
Well, you and a bunch of new monsters in the Compendium. |

| Am I missing something? I subscribed to the DDI because I thought that we'd have access to all of the books through it, but it seems that is wrong. There doesn't seem to be anything but rules and such, no fluff. Am I missing something or did I use old information in subscribing? |

Currently your subscription gets you Dragon and Dungeon magazines, and full access to the Character Builder and the Rules Compendium. The latter two give you all of the crunchy bits for players and DMs from all 4e D&D sources, but not digital copies of the actual books themselves. So, basically what you are "missing" is the fluff.
Originally, waaaaaaay back when info on D&D Insider was first coming, WotC mentioned plans to provide digital copies of all the books, but at an additional cost above the subscription. This was scrapped a long time ago for various reasons. Since then, WotC has more recently stated they have plans to provide digital copies of their books in the future at some point, but no details on format, cost, or anything else have been given.

Fluff material is still the retaining of the books.
The Compendium is supposed to complement, not supersede, the rulebooks and Dragon Articles.

| I hope that the next expansion allows players to rename their powers. Been sitting on this one for a while!

edit to add: I don't mean this to sound so negative since I found the Compendium quite useful when making a new character but it's been that long and I was hoping for more from the DDI.

| This month marks the point where I'm subscribing to ddi for the Compendium even more than for the character builder. Holy cow, NOTHING makes prepping for adventures easier than being able to quickly draw from every single monster & magic item published in any book or magazine, all in front of me at once. If they copied over without screwed-up formatting it'd be even better.
Incidentally, I think I have an unnatural love for the kenku. Is that so wrong?
