Now that's innovation...
I was going to suggest something similar, but it seemed a little complex and too much hard work.
You might want to take it a step further to get the opaque parts opaque. It's really as simple as taking white paint and applying it to the back of the transparency. It takes a little time and a steady hand but it'll make a world of difference

I don't mind you making changes, provided you don't distribute the modified copies. It's no different from converting a miniature in my mind. Please do send me the copies though. I'd like to see them
