Using Fantasy Adventures for Other Games

Here's a little exercise for you:

1. Take a fantasy module that you have read, but haven't had a chance to run yet.
2. Convert it into a different setting such as a science fiction mod, wild west mod, modern, anything other than the intended setting the mod is for.
3. What's your experience?

If you have done this, tell us about it. How'd it go?

If you haven't done this, go for it!

For me, I haven't done this, but here's my plan. I want to run a science fiction game for Traveller or maybe Warhammer Dark Heresy. I'm thinking of taking an adventure path from Paizo and converting all the elements to a science fiction feel for it.
1. Monsters are aliens (unless I go with Dark Heresy where monsters truly are monsters)
2. Locations are different planets, maybe different sectors.
3. Dungeons are bases, strongholds, research facilities.
4. Magic is psionic power.
5. Add guns and viola!
