Help Me Decide on a Project!

Like many others, I seem to be afflicted with Gamer ADHD when it comes to deciding on a project to work on. I have narrowed my choices down to two possibilities. Both will be based on Castles & Crusades because that is my current system of choice. I would like your help in deciding which one would have the most appeal TO YOU PERSONALLY as a gamer. If you don’t like either and/or don’t like C&C, feel free to ignore. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

CODE NAME: Warriors & Warlords

- A swords & sorcery flavored-version of C&C
- Low-magic, focus on combat and action
- Possibly include an ‘ability tree’ system similar to those used in Exalted and Iron Heroes
- No mental or social attributes (maybe) – let the players roleplay these

CODE NAME: Dynasties & Dominions

- A ‘dominion ruling’ game
- PCs start and/or rule/expand their own dominions
- Rules for running a kingdom, wars etc.
- Designed to be friendly for messageboard and email play

I agree with weem.

It is the spirit of the game, not the letter of the rules, which is important. NEVER hold to the letter written, nor allow some barracks room lawyer to force quotations from the rule book upon you, IF it goes against the obvious intent of the game. As you hew the line with respect to conformity to major systems and uniformity of play in general, also be certain the game is mastered by you and not by your players. Within the broad parameters give in the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Volumes, YOU are creator and final arbiter. By ordering things as they should be, the game as a WHOLE first, your CAMPAIGN next, and your participants thereafter, you will be playing Advanced Dungeons and Dragons as it was meant to be. May you find as much pleasure in so doing as the rest of us do.

I like elements of both project ideas, and don't see why they can't be mixed.
