General RPG Rules DiscussionDiscuss the rules of any game except D&D or Pathfinder, such as Arcana Evolved, Mutants & Masterminds, Star Wars Saga, d20 Modern, and the like.
Anyone know of any upcoming d20 Modern products, especially campaign books? The only one I know of for sure is Urban Arcana (which I'm not interested in).
Is WoTC going to also do a book for Agents of PSI and Shadow Chasers, both of which I'm more interested in?
What else is coming that you're looking forward to, or would you like to see come out?
Otherworld Creations is planning on doing a set of Countdown Mission Packs that lack the "supernatural" and "arcane" elements that some d20 Modern fans seem to want, as well as "Solid: the d20 Blaxploitation Experience" set in the 1970's Shaft era:
Originally posted by Sagan Darkside I recall Mongoose saying they were going to do a MIB/x-file kind of d20 modern campeign book, but I have not seen mention of it in sometime.
I am a bit surprised there was not a big push of 3rd party support for d20 modern like there was for d20 standard.

Sounds a bit like Dark*Matter, doesn't it? If WOTC releases a campaign book for d20mod, I'd like it to be DM.
I notice that for d20mod, WOTC is trying to keep 3rd parties from duplicating the "look and feel" of the 1st party products.

They don't have them planned for the first half of this year and through summer, AFAIK.
They're promoting Urban Arcana to attract D&D gamers, still their largest consumer base.

Gamma World to be published by Sword & Sorcery Studio.
Armaggedon: 2089 to be published by Mongoose.
d20 Mecha to be published by Guardians of Order.

In May, you'll be able to pick up Atomic City from Fiery Dragon. It's a superhero setting for D20 Modern, complete with all of the Advanced Classes and new FX that you need to build a D20M Supers campaign.
Also, it'll feature art by:
Mike Allred (Madman, X-Statix)
Darwyn Cooke (Batman:Ego, Catwoman)
Nick Derington (X-Men Unlimited, Paper Museum)
Paul Pope (100%, Batman Black & White, Spiderman: Tangled Web)
J. Bone (Gotham Girls, Mr. Gum)
More info coming soon.

In April Dark Inheritance will be in stores. It is a 224 page hardback, d20 Modern campaign setting written by such notable authors as Sam Witt, Wil Upchurch, Aaron Rosenberg, and others.
marketing blurb
Fear the Future... Destiny has Failed!
Enter a world of mythic horror where the genetic inheritors of the gods and monsters of legend battle against ancient terrors and explore a mystical world newly revealed behind long forgotten gates.
Fear descends upon a world where destiny has failed and creatures from earth's primordial past once again stalk the earth. As a Titan, your birthright is power and now a future is waiting to be forged by those who have the strength of will to shape it.
Can you survive otherworldly monsters, the mad schemes of the Daemonhost, and the mysteries hidden within your own genetic code?

"An action packed world where the mysteries and terrors of the supernatural world collide with the crises of modern events and technology." That works! - I've now added Mythic Dreams Studios to the publisher section of my Web site
Well, I plan on supporting d20 Modern myself. After I finish off (when I have the time to) my cybernetic book I am going to do a vehicle and vehicular weapon guide for d20 Modern. Thats going to be a lot of research to do.
Also I would like to create an original setting for d20 Modern without the FX material to it. A Post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk style but without all the mutants. If there are mutants it will be through genetic manipulation not by accident.
So much to do...

Awesome! Thanks.
There will be an update with some art from the book this Monday.

I very much agree with you and it's my big grief with WotC right. I think they were unsure of the Modern book so they are trying to keep the D&D players happy, which I can't fault them for that. As it stands now, I'm not at all interested in the UA setting. This may change when the book comes out though. I would have rather seen them merge UA with SC and PSI with GT.
They probably are going to do the other setting books, but I wish it would'nt be such a long wait between them like it will be between Modern and UA
I don't know if they can go any faster. Their employee rosters have shrunked. And although they are adopting the practice of using freelance designers/writers more and more, Wizards' staff are responsible for editing and layout. Heck, I don't know if the staff reduction will affect their already underperforming editing and proofreading.
No offense, Wizards, and I may not be an English teacher, but I couldn't even give you a "C" grade.

What they really need to do is license out the D*M property. Malhovic could even pick it up (since Monte co-wrote it). How cool would that be?
Monte Cook is busy with an even bigger project: the Malhavoc Handbooks.
I'd suggest JD Wiker, Stan!, and Rich Redman of The Game Mechanics would acquire the license, since JD has been credited for his work with the Dark*Matter product line.
