I haven't really looked at the magus, but seems pretty close to the playtest from what I saw glancing through. Some good archetypes and choices for all the casting classes, and an interesting variation on channeling that could help make clerics more interesting to play. The words of power would probably not work for this, as they are still very much a work in progress, but they do look cool as a possible alternative eventually. Aside from the words of power, I really didn't see anything that wouldn't fit in E'n.
I think we should wait with approval until the material becomes more available in the online SRDs. It is still much work in progress: Ultimate Magic
So way back when: http://www.enworld.org/forum/meta/27...ks-advice.html LPF asked for a forum. Now that LPF is more established and up to 90 members and growing and making up a fair number of games in the PbP forums, do you think it would be worth asking Morrus again for a Living Pathfinder forum? Social Groups just don't seem to cut it very well. Maybe now that growth has been shown he would reconsider?
Not sure it has been a little over a year since we asked the first time. Morrus said he wanted less forums on the board instead of more. It would be nice just not sure if he would want to hear from us again. -HM
I would probably wait until we have at sustained at least 100, if not more, for at least 6 months if he has already rejected the idea. It would be nice to have, but until we can really prove that our needs are greater than what can be handled through the existing structure, it would be best not to bite the hand that feeds us.
Perhaps instead of seeking our own subforums, we should see what suggestions are being made to increase social group functionality, and support those, or put forth suggestions of our own in that direction, trying to get support for them from others.
100 would likely be a good goal, though I am not sure we would need that number for six months. It looks like LPF already brings a group of players that visit the forum regularly to check their games which drives ad revenue for Morrus. If he is anything like me I would have likely rejected the idea early too, as too many "ideas" come and go only to be abandoned. But LPF seems to have a growing number of people and still thriving which might help make the case for warranting a forum. The worse he is going to do is say no again. In addition to the Living world growing here the game system we use seems to be growing in popularity rather rapidly as well. Perhaps compiling a list of what we think the shortcomings of the social groups is would be useful as well. Namely no subscribed threads, no built in quote buttons. Can I use mentions in the social groups? Those are super useful on occasion.
Nothing against the old Living EN World (I'm a member my self and in one of it's last games), but it is a bit strange they still have their own forum with nearly no activity and our 90+ members have to cope with the limited Social Group options.
alot of the programmatic useful stuff is NOT in the group sections. Mentions, XP giving, and the like. that is always a bummer to me. The subscribed issue is something I dislike alot. 90% of the time I get my updates though my phone, and normally forget to check the social group page for lengths at a time.
Social group posts don't count towards your post total, I think. And no stickies!
Well, perhaps advocating adding those things to social groups would be a good idea. It would be more likely to be well received, because such things would aid everybody, not just us.
we have yet another new member potential asking about hte wiki here. It is Mythral dragon. -should be here soon as I have given a link to MD (mad doctor?)
Recently I looked at the World Map to find a place for the barbarian I made to come from, other than Jirago, I like it but had a vision of something else. Anyways i noticed we have to lands covered in ice either all the time or during the winter months. So what I was thinking was to claim one of the Northern most islands and give it life. The people I see there are more Norse or Viking like than barbarian and see my barbarian as more of a Viking Berserker, without the beard and ale.
Any of the mountain ranges will be ice covered tundra year round in about the upper third of their reaches - they're REALLY high elevations. That said, the group of islands to the north would also work very well, and would be more suited to a seafaring people. IIRC, there was a proposal early on for this, but I can't remember if it was ever made formal or discussed much.
The Sethir Mountains were my first thought, but my dwarf is from that region. I may go with it for now and create the islands over the next couple of days. I have quite a bit of stuff written down as far as names of places and at least one deity, which from the lore I really liked the concept. The only drawback I have is I have read very little Norse lore and know only the widely popular subjects. I'll get my barbarian done and work on it next. Maybe I'll have the ones in the Sethir Mountains derive from the lands I plan to create.
Fulgrim, my dwarven barbarian, is from a dwarven clan in the Sethir Mountains as well.
My Tiefling barbarian is also from the Sethir mountains.
I have changed several things regarding my barbarian. One of them being where she is from. I plan on writing the new area up still but she will not be from that region. So Sethir Mountains it is.
THere was a proposal early in LPF life about norse-styled barbarians from those very northernmost islands.
How come they where never voted on? Seems pretty solid.
