    we are talking about it.
The "Monster" feat list is a misc group: the only thing I need to qualify for quicken spell like is spell like ability and CL 10

Like wise I think he is going to end up with flyby and improved natural armor: two more "monster" feats. the only reason their called monster feats is because most PCs don't qualify for them without going far out of their way. meanwhile my guy will end up with spell-like abilities, Nat armor(starts with it and will have lots), a Breath attack, innate flight, burrow speed, and swim speed. Most (none Sorcerer) characters will go through L1-20 without any of that being granted by the character and the character itself only. thus, he qualifies for a lot of feats normally only available to NCP monsters

Addon: btw for the bloodline I'm using a Tarn Linnorm, do I use a cone, a line or do I get to pick? Tarn's can do either

My fault - I am used to Monster Feats needing GM approval at the very least. Likely bleed-over my group/3.5 days. Perhaps they don't need approval for LPF, one of the judges can weigh on that.

    it's alright :3
I tend to get a handle on games easy, but I do like to get gray areas shorted out early instead of just amusing what I think is true is true because I say so: assumptions can get people killed, or just annoyed.

Hmm, I should be getting home in a day or few, so I should be able to get back to work on that Akutu lore I was working on soon and get things sorted so I can start working on the character in earnest :3

I'm in the process of sussing out my gnome master summoner, and was looking for a little advice. For traits, I'd like ones the give Diplomacy and Ride as class skills; thus far, the only ones I could find on d20pfsrd that are applicable to gnomes are Fangwood Diplomat (Diplomacy) and Imperial Soldier (Ride). The problem with that is that both are regional traits. Anyone have any suggestions?

Ease of Faith and Extremely Fashionable both give Diplomacy as a class skill.

Ride ... you're kind of boned. I also see Savannah Child and Militia Veteran as possibilities, but those are Golarion and you'd need to propose them as E'n.

Honestly, in my PF games I've just said to hell with it and added these three traits:

    *Apt Pupil
Choose two Knowledge skills. You gain a +1 trait bonus to both of those skills, and make one of those two Knowledge skills a permanent class skill. You can choose this trait multiple times, although you must select different Knowledge skills each time.

    *Student of Hard Knocks
Choose either Fortitude, Reflex, or Will. You gain a +1 trait bonus to that type of save. You can choose this trait multiple times, although you must select a different save category each time.

    *Prodigy
Choose any skill other than Perception. You gain a +1 trait bonus to that skill and it becomes a permanent class skill. You can choose this trait multiple times, although you must select a different skill category each time.

At the end of the day, it's just easier than sorting through a damn PDF file to see which skills Paizo has bothered to make traits for.

Yeah, that's kind of my take, too, since that's a pretty common approach to traits.

You could take adopted as a trait then Human - World Traveler. Add something about that in your background then.

BTW are all the traits on the SRD approved for the LPF? It is not listed as an allowed source but what we have been doing is having people make proposals to get things like traits approved by letting them re-fit them into E'n.

An Imperial Rorn soldier may have been the human who adopted your character so all you would need is a reworking of that trait.

World Traveler is a Human(Varisan) trait. Another Golarion/PFS.

Traits on the SRD are approved unless they're Golarion-specific. In which case, you have to sanitize it and write a proposal. At least, that was my understanding.

Most of the generic regional ones should be fine. Militia veteran and savannah child would fall into that category I woud say, same with world traveler. None of them reference anything Golarion specific as far as I know, and could apply to any world that has militia or savannahs, and world traveler is actaully listed as a generic human trait in the APG, so I don't see anything wrong with that one, either.

Dammit ... the pdf from PFSRD has those listed as regional traits, but the SRD does not. Sorry.

I think officially, traits are only approved if they're found in the Core Rulebook, Advanced Players Handbook, or Ultimate Magic (I think that set's been approved?). d20pfsrd is pretty good about listing the specific source on the entry, though you have to do some sifting.

Also, Qik? Ride is already a class skill for Summoners.

Well excuse me while I blush...

Well, that, as they say, takes care of that. But at least I spurned on this stimulating debate.

To be honest, I did have to double check. Seemed odd that Eidolons would have the mount evolution if it wasn't a class skill for their summoners to ride them, but then the Archaeologist Bard has a class feature that benefits a cross-class skill, and Rangers have a class feature that counter-intuitively applies to two to three cross class skills, so it wouldn't be like there wasn't a precedent.

Hmm, just wondering; about how much, in abilities, is the spell level advancement from a normal spell caster worth?
I'm playing with the idea of making a sorcery/monster(martial) class hybrid of some sort.
Concept wise the character is more like a PC monster then a generic mage, so casting is not going to be his bread and butter in the end game despite ending with what amounts to 17 levels is sorcerer and CL19, and that seams a bit wast-full to me, when that is what I'm geting as a side bonus to what I want to get, not that I mind being able to toy with reality (toying with reality is always fun ^_^)

But I'm wondering if it would be reasonable, to make a class, based off of the Sorcerer, that basicly trades some spell levels (3-5 by level 10, or 5-10 by level 20) for boosts to other other areas; I think the dragon disciple is a good example of this, but I would like to cut more spells for more monster like bonuses. am I being silly here or should I perusing this and attempt making a custom class? or should I instead just use a Synthesist summoner? thoughts?

From what I've seen, LPF tends to avoid custom classes/races/etc; the tendency seems to be to keep things as RAW as possible. Someone had proposed a half-dragon template for reasons similar to yours, and the judges gave it a no-go.

Not trying discourage you by any means; just a head's up.

also, they have to compare how many users profiles already? if one just allowed you to make your changes, then suddenly another judge looks at your character without knowing the changes, they would be highly confused.

they are trying to make their jobs easier. while something like that could fly in a home game, a large Living World such as this would have issues with it.

We also have to consider that many DMs here are new and they have plenty to worry about without having to figure out how to handle custom material as well. We're trying to keep things as simple as we can while still allowing the flexibility of fun player options. IMO, there are plenty of options available in Core & APG and we're working on getting UM & UC (or parts, anyway) approved and in play soon, too.

Zerith, in regards to your earlier question regarding using the Abyssal bloodline claws to gain the Draconic bloodline bite attack, I vote NO.

To get the Dragon Bite attack, you need the Dragon Claw attack. There's a reason Crossblooded Sorcerers have to choose one or the other of their bloodline powers. Using the Abyssal bloodline to get around that and gain a Draconic bloodline power so your character can have claw (x2), bite, and an additional ranged touch ray attack is, IMO, a usurpation of the rules as intended.

(For the rest of it, I have to say I don't really buy the "I'm so powerful I'm weak" argument. It sounds like a power-gamers dream to me . . .)

Quick question: do I need a saddle to ride a mount? Or does it just give me a chance to not fall off if I'm knocked unconscious?

You don't need one, no. Ride Skill, bottom. -5 on any ride checks you may do. It's one of those random things that is useful, but not necessary.
