Let's talk sources! First off, my #1 rule when gaming is that everyone have fun. Rules exist as a framework for that, but at the end of the day if they are getting in the way, something is wrong. As far as what I want to see, I'm super flexible - my main rule is nothing too goofy. That's a subjective thing, obviously, but I would rather say that than give a specific list of books that you can't use. If you have your heart set on a particular concept, as long as it's not OP and you can justify it and make it fun, it's all good! Post any specific questions here. P.S. No psionics

okay, so beyond book sources-- should I choose a background/theme, or do you want to not use those? beyond that, I was planning on rolling a sorcerer, but can go with something else if needed.
I'm happy to play any role once we've got a better sense of the shape of the party and what other people are looking to do.
