I ran two modules as a "pre-Carrion Crown" because one of my players had health-related issues and we were not going to start the campiagn without him. So I wrote up two modules. The first one was called The Horror Beneath Consecrated Ground and the other was the Library of Stark Madness.
The synopsis for both of them are as follows:
Fleeing the inquisitors from the City of Karcau, everyone has their own agenda and purpose, but when a roadside accident forces the coach to stop, there are terrible things in those woods, things that no mortal man should ever face. Unfortunately for one of the teamsters, an attack on the coach by strange wolves causes one of them to be dragged off into the woods. Passengers become heroes as they brave the woods to rescue the teamster that leads them to an old cemetery and manor lost in time, yet where evil festers.
For the Library of Stark Madness:
After leaving the roadside temple, the party arrives in Ardagh Town, only to be offered a chance of a lifetime to find the infamous Library of Stark Madness. Can the party trust their sponsor, a scoundrel who was exiled under penalty of death by Count Lucinean Galdana or will they actually find this accursed place filled with treasures but known to make all who dwell in the Sunderwood go mad? Only time will tell of who the party's true friends are and what is real and what is not.
