CREATING A DEMONIC CREATURE
“Demonic” is a template that can be added to any animal, dragon, fey, giant, humanoid or vermin that does not already have the outsider type (referred to hereafter as the “base creature”).
Size: The base creature’s size does not change. Type: The base creature loses its current type, gains the outsider type and the demonic and native subtypes. Special Qualities: The base creature gains immunity to electricity and poison, resistance to acid 10, cold 10, and fire 10. In addition the base creature gains TKR 10 which grants it telepathy out to 100 feet. Abilities: The base creature’s abilities are unchanged. Challenge Rating: +X Advancement: As per the base creature’s standard advancement or by character class Level Adjustment: +X
Don't think I know TKR 10, but the telepathy isn't too big a deal. I'm going to assume that you don't recalculate hit dice or skill points, yada yada, in which case I'd guess CR+1, maybe +2 at a stretch. LA is a bit harder, but I think Savage Species has some guidelines for that (don't know, don't have it ).
I would go with +1 for LA and CR. While I think the Telepathy could be VERY useful for PCs, ability-wise I can't quite justify it being +2. As for CR, yeah, definitely solidly within the +1. Not minor enough for +0, but not buff enough at all for it to be considered +2.
